  1. Well its just not good enough Reg! I shall try one of said helmets, and I hold you personally responsible for its purchase. If I dont like it, I shall be looking for someone to blame, and shall come over to Stockport and make you eat the aforementioned headwear!
  2. Or use 3 ratchet straps. Any type of twisting or shear force on the webbing will snap them, so having more than one to hold your bollard straight will help immensly. I have a few truck straps that are 10t mbs. 3 of them on your bollard should work well...
  3. With the price of steel the way it is, you wont find one that cheap anymore. I bought my first one for £4995, and also had to make up a better control bar. The later control bar systems are fantastic. Garth, I'm sure Corwen Forestry are doing them for under £7500
  4. Those Treequip Helmets are excellent. The one Andy gave away in the comp found its way onto the bonce of Andrew, one of my guys. Were all very impressed with it. My only critique is that its slightly heavier then my Vertex vent.
  5. Why is what the AA expect classed as Bullshit? I know its a high standard, but I see nothing in its requirements that is BS. It may not apply to 1 man bands, but why should'nt it be a high standard? Really? I think how you run your business should be a major part. I get sick and tired of people on here whinging about cowboys and pikeys, and yet whinging about the high standards of the Arb Association. I'm not saying that you should HAVE to join the AA approved contractor scheme, but surely we should appreciate the fact that they are trying to raise standards within the industry.
  6. Ive had 3 260 HF Farmi's, in my opinion there is no better PTO chipper out there (for the price). The twin disk system with screens and sliver breakers works exceptionaly well, easily producing high grade fuel chip. If you want the best price and service, speak to Gareth at Corwen Forestry, as they are the longest running Farmi dealers in the country.
  7. Count me in
  8. Perverse? Naughty? sounds good to me. I cant help but think that small amounts of carefully placed C4 plastique would achieve a highly desireable effect.
  9. 250 kgs dropped how far? remember Force = Mass x Acceleration
  10. Chortle:001_tongue:
  11. HAD I the heavens' embroidered cloths, Enwrought with the golden and silver light, The blue and the dim and the dark cloths Of night and light and half-light, I would spread the cloths under your feet But I, being poor, have only my dreams; I have spread my dreams beneath your feet; Tread softly because you tread on my dreams... William Butler Yeats
  12. Of course. Verse and worse. 'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves Did gyre and gimble in the wabe; All mimsy were the borogoves, And the mome raths outgrabe. "Beware the Jabberwock, my son! The jaws that bite, the claws that catch! Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun The frumious Bandersnatch!" He took his vorpal sword in hand: Long time the manxome foe he sought— So rested he by the Tumtum tree, And stood awhile in thought. And as in uffish thought he stood, The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame, Came whiffling through the tulgey wood, And burbled as it came! One, two! One, two! and through and through The vorpal blade went snicker-snack! He left it dead, and with its head He went galumphing back. "And hast thou slain the Jabberwock? Come to my arms, my beamish boy! O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!" He chortled in his joy. 'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves Did gyre and gimble in the wabe; All mimsy were the borogoves, And the mome raths outgrabe.
  13. I find a short skirt and high heels does more to impress.
  14. Dean - you did good mate. She may rant on, but even if you paid £100 for a single black rose, she would still- a. rant on about the cost b. get a lovely warm feeling inside. Anyway, having had the pleasure of meeting Mrs Dean, I would say those fluers were well worth the asking price. Next time get her a new whippet and flat cap.
  15. Its evolution Baby.
