  1. Feudalism, a term first used in the early modern period (17th century), in its most classic sense refers to a Medieval Europe political system comprised of a set of reciprocal legal and military obligations among the warrior nobility, revolving around the three key concepts of lords, vassals, and fiefs. So where do you see yourself in this system Lee, and how do you see it emerging from the breakdown of our technological society?
  2. No, there is no dealer. we did used to buy a lot of their teeth, but since we started using the duradisk, we lost interest in the leonardi system. If you really wanted the M1 cutting system, I'm sure I cold get one for you, but I would recomend a duradisk in AR400. J. we use the short shanked front teeth, as I've seen the long shanked teeth break and work loose.
  3. Sandvik Duradisk. We tried the new leonardi, but its just nowhere near as efficient at cutting.
  4. Lee, Marion King Hubbert got his calculations exactly right. He predicted the peak of oil for the US market. He was scorned for years until he was proved exactly right. And if you think that the powers that be have the skills to cope with the coming crisis, you have much more faith in their ability's than me...
  5. I also have a Merc 814D, my fourth. Its the light chassis version with the little bonnet, they now call them Vario's. Absolutely the best 7.5 tonner you can buy, as its small and nippy enough to use as a pickup, and does nearly 30mpg.
  6. Brazilian Tupi Oilfield - about 6 billion barrels worth. It shows how we are having to get very clever with our techology to get at it though. http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/bus/stories/042008dnbusdeepwater.2c69ab3.html Dagmar is right (as usuall) - sustainable permaculture is the only way forward. Small scale localised power production, and a return to small scale family owned industry. I'm looking at investing in a small scale wood pelleting plant to start recovering the embodied energy in all the woodchips we produce.
  7. Go and sit in the corner with this guy...
  8. No, its offshore, under 2 1/2 miles of atlantic.
  9. Peak oil is a fact, its just the timescale that is variable. I know that they have just discovered a deep water field with over a billion barrels in Brazil.

  14. Yes, Well. Unfortunately there are 10 million other idiots out there who will watch this kind of mental junk food. Its one of my proud claims that I have never watched a single episode of BB, or even corrinnation st or westenders.
  15. Bob, do they want to sell that Wheelhorse? I'm looking for one.... As for your problem tree, I find a few 88mm armour piercing shells are enough to turn most problem trees into matchwood. Hope this helps.
  16. Vigas are Polish built Alla Talkari under licence. Extremely good quality and performance.
  17. Nice one reg. Next time call me and drop by for a cuppa. The Lleyn is nice, but the Island is better...

  24. Thank you Lee, you make a most convincing argument. Which of these horses Bottoms in particular do you think my information comes from? This guy? Marion King Hubbert (October 5, 1903 – October 11, 1989) was a geoscientist who worked at the Shell research lab in Houston, Texas. He made several important contributions to geology and geophysics, most notably the Hubbert curve and Hubbert peak theory Or this guy? Matthew R. Simmons, chairman and CEO of Simmons & Company International, is a prominent oil-industry insider and one of the world's leading experts on the topic of peak oil. Simmons was motivated by the 1973 energy crisis to create an investment banking firm catering to oil companies. In his previous capacity, he served as energy adviser to U.S. President George W. Bush. maybe this one? "World reserves are confused and in fact inflated. Many of the so called reserves are in fact resources. They’re not delineated, they’re not accessible, they’re not available for production ” — Sadad Al-Husseini, former VP of Aramco, October 2007
  25. Thats because the 280 has 64 cubic inch motors. Enough torque to shred any shards that bind. And yes, the dealers are....
