"It's all gone Pete Tong!" "GET TO BED/WORK!" (depending on the time slot!) "I Was 'Avin' A Drink Then!!" "IT'S WINKING AT ME!" "Whoooooooooooo?" "I'm not gay or 'owt" "Ooooh, ten pence short "Must get some oil for that door
  2. I miss Mark & Lard on Radio1. The funniest DJ's ever. [ame]http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=cBkIqocn-JY[/ame]
  3. Used to spend all my weekends and school holidays working with my Dad. Started working full time with him nearly 20 years ago. 4 years with him, and another 5-6 years subbing. Been running my own firm ever since.
  4. How much does it carry?
  5. I like Charlotte Green for reading the news on R4, chris moyels on R1 for stupid humour, Terry is great if you have a hangover on R2, Richard allinoson on R2 for the nighttime, Pete Tong is the best for friday evening, and the shipping forecast on R4 is the ultimate soporiffic. Dont you just love the BBC?
  6. Only a terrier would be hard enough to bite a chainsaw....
  7. Hmmm. Yes well, like I really want to replace my excellent cutting system with a system like the multitip....
  8. Mine -
  9. Why should we care? bunch of foriegners playing in a distant foriegn country? One of the reasons I hate football.
  10. HAHAHA! sorry for the laugh - Welcome to the forum. The reason for my laughter, Alder is one of the best firewoods you can get. Its always entertained me that people think its bad. They probably tried to burn it wet.Dry it like you would beech or sycamore, and it will burn long and hot. Even better if you can dry it european style. Cleft it into 1m billets and stack in walls with some tin ontop. The reason it was used for charcoal making was for gunpowder - alder charcoal carries the highest specific calorific rating, and grinds down the finest. Have no fear, you are sat on the finest firewood available.
  11. My thoughts also.
  12. He makes a lot of valid points. Wonder if Boris will be any different to Red Ken.
  13. I got a funny feeling inside when he decided to dangle under the boom.
  14. Looks pretty bad. Will probably herald a load of kneejerk tree mutilation by local authority's.
  15. For the price of a GOOD mog, I could buy a 4 wheel drive 100hp tractor, a timber trailer, a chipper and a 7.5 tonne chip truck. I think unimogs are overated. (and yes I have owned one) My advice would be to buy an ex military 1300L of one of the ex mod suppliers, it will have low hours and will have been pampered. Forget the hassle of Hydraulics, Pto packs etc. and running a PTO chipper, use it as a very neat 4x4 truck with a chip bin. it will tow a chipper like you wont even know its there, and accross any terrain you want. They tend to be better off road then their heavier Ag cousins aswell.
  16. Nice pics Rob. You look a proper lairy b****** Bet the yanks think of as 'that mad limey'....
  17. I'm a big fan of the Iveco's. Go like poo of a chromed shovel, and pull very well. How's the Rangers holding up mike? still impressed?
  18. Your going to be struggling to find anything decent at that price mate. Any DECENT diesel chipper is going to set you back at least £5k.
  19. DOnt Knock the Utility companies. They do what needs to be done.
  20. As entertaining as a witch burning.
  21. Steven Donaldson I thought.
  22. You will thrown into the darkness, and there will be a wailing and gnashing of teeth.
  23. Seriously - this industry is plauged by newly CS'ed guys going out and thinking they'll start their own business. Those couple of years dragging brash for another company will teach you way more about the job than any course ever will. Trust me on this, go and work for somebody and get the experience.
  24. For you guys who are just starting out, I would always employ a more mature steady type over young and dumb. both my subbie cutters are in their 40's. There are plenty of young fast climbers out there, sell yourselves on your ability to drive all the trucks, organise jobs, turn up on time, not suffer from beer flu, etc etc.
  25. Get yurself a HGV licence and there'll be endless job offers...
