  1. Your right. I remember you could tell who was the urban warrior and who actually needed their 4x4 for the bush. City's were full of flashy new 4x4's, but all the bush trucks were old 4.2 Patrols and Landcruisers. The only Hiluxes I remember were beach runners on Fraser Island. Did like the Aussie spec Defenders though. 120 wheelbase, trayback, and 3.9 isuzu engine and transmission.
  2. See? now your thinking spiritually...
  3. Really? Just the 2 of you? I'm pretty certain there's more than you and Liam doing it....
  4. Well, he did give him a load of riches + new flocks aswell - surely that makes up for all your dead kids:001_tongue:
  5. Hi-Lux sux. I've had two, very poor compared to a defender. That Hilux in the video definately was'nt running the standard air intake....

    Ash tree removal

So Laz's extreme rigging works - I am proved wrong:D Really slick work reg, especially the use of the step as a rigging point. Reckon you could have done with a spliced eye on the rigging line, that bowline catching looked to be the only snag in a very smooth operation. Myself, I would have been tempted to dynamite that tree and sweep up the cloud of splinters afterwards:001_smile:
  7. Hehe. I got it on the radio about 2 minutes after I posted....
  8. Looks like you've been busy steve. Will there be a contractors section?
  9. Its da Skwerl! good pic Brian, thanks.
  10. Thats a 6 tonne bobcat, US spec.
  11. I did 90k HARD miles in my 02 navara, over 3 years. It had the 170hp engine, and never gave a moments grief. Returned 32mpg despite being thrashed... Excellent vehicles, my only complaint was the cramped cab.
  12. Top tunes Lee. Stone Roses were the greatest band that never was. Roots manuva rocks. Carl, that scrobius Pip tune is fantastic. Pete, great to hear scooby snacks again. Remember how absolutely sub zero cool The FLC were? probably one of the best Live acts I ever seen.
  13. John, Take my word on this, the 3 tonner will be WAY to small. They are designed for skidsteer mounting, and a skidsteer will handle the weight far better than an excvator.

    AA @ Ciren

compared to about 12,000 on the first day of the last APF...
  15. I agree. Its quite easy as an experienced operator to mitigate and reduce risk with a chainsaw - But lyme's disease is very real, and a harder risk to guard against. I've had tick bites before now from walking in heather, one could easily have given my something nasty.
  16. Landrovers are a bloody illness. Its an afliction one never recovers from. Anyway, in light of the fuel prices, Ive sold my patrol and bought a peugeot Partner HDi 4x4. [ame] [/ame]
  17. Jim, Even an 18foot tree is going to have a huge rootball on it. A 40 footer would require an enourmous treespade, or at least a 20 tonne excavator to move. My advice is to grow one from a heavy standard. I would also look at planting a Noble Fir, as the look a lot nicer than the norway spruce.
  18. Local Firewood guy I know has just got Lymes disease really badly from working in woods with deer in them. He's having to practically retire its that debilitating.
  19. Listening to this Band a lot lately. Love the eclectic blend of samples on there other albums, but this track is just beautiful... [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LpZMKV3_9pc&feature=related[/ame]
  20. I reckon its more likely to be an S75. RB44's were only ever built for the military.
  21. That was'nt mine Mike. Mine was a rear mounted close coupled Gandini.
  22. Looks great Rog. Wish we had better logging shows.
  23. Great trucks, but 11.5 tons gvw.
  24. We found the RB44 would go right through places that our U1750 sank in. I found its offroad ability to be excellent, even with a full load of chip and a chipper behind.
  25. Yeah, some of them were hilarious. 1400 comments and not 1 in sympathy
