  1. Totally agree Rupe. My point is, if you accept you are carying waste you must follow the waste proceedure. Like you, I dont and never had accepted that I carry waste as my arisings are a product of one sort or another.
  2. A very good point. Also you may not realise, but even if you have a WCL you also need paper work for duty of care of waste to go with it. I.E, records of what waste, how much, where it came from, and where its gone on given dates etc. Your WCL is a waste of time without it.
  3. Very common fault. I have one but not as bad as some have experienced on here. Hopefully some of them will chip in. Mine just had the bad chain tensioner, and low output oil pump issues but all sorted now.
  4. This one is all standard Jon, but I do have a decat and mid straight pipe, and a egr blank for it. The landy tipper I have is already fitted with the above toys and "breathes" really well now:sneaky2:
  5. I have a td5 110. Bought at 3 years old with 27k on the clock. Had been used to pull a rally car on low loader all its life till then. Now has 90k on it. I'd say since ive owned it around 40k will have been towing, half of that fully loaded. To date its had a front swivel ball, a UJ and an aux fuel pump. NOTHING else above servicing. At near 10 years old now, I think that speaks for itself.
  6. Quality can vary a lot, so thats good advise Sam.
  7. No. Dont go down the mods route, it will complicate insurance. Many landys have welded chassis. Also, just to clear up the many many rumours about HD chassis and 3.5t gross landies; they are not the same thing! It is very possible to get a 3.5ton 110 without it having the HD chassis. They were special orders and not so many of them after 1998 anway. Looks a nice truck you got yourself there, if you dont mind me asking, what did you end up paying for it? (my link dont work now)
  8. I'd say if it has the 404 sprocket on now, it must be a beefy model, so as Al says swap the drive sprocket to 3/8 and it should be dandy.
  9. Manufacturers press mark I'd say.
  10. Wow, this thread has been brought back from the dead! Steve, very good points. In both posts.
  11. Voted regular, preferably long also. Triple F.B. would be a must for me too:001_rolleyes:
  12. I think these two quotes should make your decision for you.
  13. Very nice looking truck. Very pro. Can I ask, where did you get the rear light board from? Im doing a tipper at the moment, got the lamps but looking for inspiration on what to mount them on.
  14. What sizes are they likely to go upto Steve?
  15. So did you get my last e-mails regarding the puzzle logs?
  16. Buy it in and sell on:thumbup1:
  17. Got you now, I thought you meant giving individual coatings then tripling it! I like the comparison to the burger:thumbup:
  18. I'd be very interested to know how you listed the double/tripling of your costs on the quote?
  19. First point is I would avoid a day rate if at all possible. Give them a price for the work they want doing now, and dont discuss how long it will take. Going in on day rate for a new contract (hoping for more work) can kick you in the arse later. They will either want you slogging your guts out every minute and watching you 24-7, or in a year or two when you realise you need to put the rate up, they will see you as taking the micky. Be careful mate, thats all Im saying. Been there and done that, and found the customers I first ever worked for that I priced cheap to get work, have fallen by the wayside.
  20. Always run 900, 900, 900 though Tom. Think they come out at 0.73 cube. You can slide them around in the trailer floor, but we load with tractor and deliver in either tippring trailer or tipper truck. I put a bolster accross the inside of the rear posts and the bag self empties when tipping. Ive got some vented but found they are no better than the full sided ones with holes cut in them. (Other than they are twice the money!) Not sure its much help to you tom, just wanted to share what my system is. If you do buy 900's Id be up for some though, but doesnt look like one you use.
  21. Nice one Nige, I have plans for my 360 to make it one to beat:sneaky2: There is a small chance of a 560 being available but would depend on the date. Just thought, there's my old 281 could do with a run out, just to blow some cobwebs off:thumbup1:
  22. I've kept out of this so far, but as it was me who started the thread, I will give my ten penneth. Firstly, I am very grateful for all who contributed to the subject of the thread. Some good points from all that have been a good help to me, and will hopefully be so for others too. As for the "banter", there is obviously some history here I'm not familiar with but as others have said its a shame it comes to this back and forth stuff taking the edge off an informative thread. I really do hope those concerned can move forward from this now and be the end of it. Once again thanks for the technical input, it is appreciated.
