  1. JIt may it may not, plant hire is a strange business they may have a machine in the area coming off hire also they may quote you a price and cross hire you a machine locally. The other one to try is Lynch plant or Hewdens ( personally hell would freeze over before I touched hewdens) Edited cos I forgot about these guys For Hire - Information about the plant and machinery we have for hire or Long Eaton Plant Hire Derby, Nottingham and Leicester | Road Sweeper Hire | Excavator | Grab Hire | Tipper Hire | Dumper Truck | Mini Diggers | Midlands | Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, Staffordshire, South Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, West
  2. H.E. Services (Plant Hire) Ltd - The UK's Largest Specialist Excavator, Plant & Attachment Digger Hire rental Company.
  3. If he is looking a replacing the valve block to servo then it will be very simple to get a second slice in the block that's single acting you then either need a switch on dash on an extra on off on your remote to set the spool constant pump for the splitter.
  4. I did similar with my land rover PTO. However what I did was put a new valve block on the feed from the pump before the winch that gave me scope for an additional single acting. circuit (all you need for a splitter, winch circuit will be double acting)I then had the main valve block relief valve set at what the engineer suggested. Then he put a cross line relief in the winch circuit so that still operated at the same pressure as it always did. Its hard to explain in text but worked well and didn't cost a huge amount.
  5. ullrich do 10ton linkage mounted hydraulic winches.
  6. I broke several cheap DAB radios bought a makita and its the best radio ever.
  7. Cheap isn't a good idea with led lighting stick to britax, vision alert, guardian, whelen to name a few
  8. Great looking truck where did you get the wheel arches from?
  9. I would say 3 tonne would be OK Ben 5 tonne absolute tops
  10. Chassis!! You know the mechanical history of yours why buy something unknown.
  11. Eddie George is the man he hides up Mill Lane in Long Whatton or his business partner in the office is on 01509 502355
  12. There is another option to reversing these. Fit a front mounted tow hitch it doesn't take long to unhitch spin the prime mover round and push the trailer in.
  13. We use roboflail and a Ransome's spider at work though spider is a rotary cut. Both can be hired from CLS Selfdrive
  14. EA run 3pl mounted 10tonne or permanently mounted 15tonne hydraulic winches both are usually Ulrich.
  15. When I did my B+E I used a trailer with a towing eye no problems at all.
  16. I use the Durite ones. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Arbtalk mobile app
  17. I swapped to 13 pin plugs a few years back now and have had next to no trouble since. Good quality ones are the key. Some thing I learnt was when wiring the plug or socket instead of just stripping the wires back and screwing them into the plug or socket I crimp a pin to the wire and then insert that into socket and do the screw up tight it works much much better.
  18. Metallics UK are very good quality and excellent service
  19. Ben, Have u tried pm Marsden at colwick? They hire just not certain they have a tracked one worth a call though
  20. I am afraid that as with everything you get what you pay for. I run a combination of stuff on my LR. I have these worklamps for just general hitching trailers unloading kit in dark. WIPAC Square Worklamp Work light Defender/Recovery NEW | eBay However when its a case of extended work in the dark I have one of these that I bolt on and plug in a couple of minutes 1 Hella Xenon HID Work Lamp AS200 12V Long Range | eBay Yep its hellish expensive but I paid a lot less for mine but it is like working in daylight however I would not wanted to leave it bolted to the truck with out shear nuts or something. Beacons well that's another kettle of fish again I favour LED but quality ones the cheaper suffer from water ingress and will allways let you down when you most need them I have 10 of these on the back of the 130 yes 10! however they are split between low and high and switched so if trailer is on the the lower 6 don't have to be used. Details for SecuriLED Amber LED Surface Mount (497032) I also have 8 of these on the front of the 130 again 4 up high 4 down low and switched accordingly Details for 12v Amber Multiflash LED (3700) I am not suggesting anyone needs the quantities I have, I have them because I could and the vehicle gets used for many many different jobs. I have also never paid the full list price for any of them ebay is your friend if you are patient.
  21. Correct but as I understand it if he gains B+E as a grandfather right through C+E test then if he later decides in life not to renew his C+E for instatnce at 45 yrs old medical or any medical after that then in surrending his HGV he would loose the B+E. I was warned about this when I did Cat C test as I gained C1
  22. The OP would be able to give you a totally definitive answer but I was told by my large government employer that I could take out our drivers training for B+E as I had passed the B+E test at least 3 years ago. yet lads that had passed class 1 or C+E or had grand father rights to B+E cant supervise training for B+E as they hadn't sat the test!
  23. You don't like doing things the easy way do you Dean?!
