Yes you can download the ISA rule book from the main USA ISA website, have a good read through it and then come back with any questions. Best way to learn is to enter a comp, you will get to watch a few of the more experienced guys go round first, and there will always be someone to help you out if you get lost in the tree.
  3. I am not aware of any routine inspection regime being in place, but I'm not that closely involved with the site, so there may be.
  4. I felled a lovely healthy beech on that site about a year ago, to make way for a new scout hut.
  5. Willow, poplar, ash, any tree with heavy head lean or weighting. Experience will tell you when it's likely to happen, until then take smaller pieces. A sharp chain and a big enough saw for the job will help prevent it, as will boring the hinge, setting the sink cut deep enough and narrower, and making side cuts. I sometimes like deep side cuts, like a Coos Bay cut, to really power through the back cut quickly.
  6. Valuing a company is extremely subjective. It is only worth what someone is prepared to pay....... It is also worth bearing in mind that you are probably the single most valuable asset, as without your knowledge and skills the business would be worthless.
  7. The colour of the jacket. They are 11.7 mm as far as I recall.
  8. Not sure how you would make a loop with a locked brummel, without unweaving one end. Have you looked at making a loopie? That does need a fair bit of cord though, but you do end up with an adjustable loop sling.
  9. There is no legal reason to not sell them in the uk, just that Nissan would rather sell d40 navaras instead. The np300 is more or less identical to the d22 navara.
  10. Ok, I take it all back: Dear Mr Haine REF: 1-29U3T0 Thank you for your e-mail to Nissan on 17/11/11 regarding the Nissan NP300. Please be advised that the Nissan NP300 is no longer manufactured for the UK market. I hope this information has been useful. If there is anything else that you feel we may be able to assist with, or if you would like a test drive in any of our models, please do not hesitate to contact us at Nissan Customer Support on 08457 669966. You may also visit us at Nissan cars, vans, fleet and services for further details on any of our vehicles and for a selection of e-brochures. 11. You can order one from any uk Nissan dealer. Maybe your dealer is trying to con you into buying a d40 instead.
  12. The double cabs have to have a 1000kg payload to qualify as a commercial vehicle for tax purposes. I wonder if it would be possible to uprate the single cab to the same gross vehicle weight?
  13. I think the extra cab type truck is probably the best to fit a Pro Tipper to, although I am very happy with mine in a double cab. I use my truck as a family run around too so having four proper seats is a must. I don't know why the payload is so low on the single cab though, you would have thought with only two seats it would be lighter unladen?
  14. No, but I can build you a shiny new one to order!
  15. Is that a Hilux? If so got one on the drawing board already. The weight distribution issue is the same whatever type of tipper you use, although 1.5 cube of dry firewood shouldnt overload the rear axle.
  16. Yes, in fact another arbtalk member is having one for a single cab ranger at some point.
  17. I can build one for pretty much any pickup, I am doing one for a slightly older ranger now, if the tub dimensions are close enough I can use the same pattern, otherwise I will have to measure up and design a new one, which would take slightly longer. I am working towards getting patterns for all the pickups on file, but I am only doing new ones as they are ordered.
  18. Base unit weighs about 200 kg depending on pickup model and cab variant. Headboards and high sides will add a bit, but as they hold about 2 cubic metres there is still adequate legal payload. If anyone wants more info give me a bell on 07875386674.
  19. Free Download
  20. Was that our very own TCD being interviewed?
  21. Dont see how you can get any more professional than a fully qualified doctor who has just completed an accident and emergency rotation. Actually if you go to hospital with that kind of injury, the chances of being treated by a doctor are pretty slim.
  22. A tachograph would be a better bet for recording your driving hours!
  23. I dont have an artic, but I will sell 4 wheeler loads to anyone with a greasy envelope stuffed with cash. I don't sell any processed firewood so that aspect of it doesnt concern me, however the odd one or two individuals who do buy full loads from me are very unlikely to buy split seasoned wood anyway, I think it is a different market altogether.
  24. Ag engineer is often a good bet, rebuilding a ram isn't rocket science.
  25. You dont need a 27mm sling to attach a pulley running a 16mm working line. If your posting that answer you clearly didnt read the question.
