Fig 8 choked onto 10mm tenex deadeye sling, tied with a timber hitch or cow hitch depending on trunk diameter relative to sling length.

I just multiply up the rope diameter, 21x for full fid, 7 times for short, and use a tape measure to mark it up. Important to be precise on the DB, as if you are a bit out it will give you problems later.

Coffee is packed with mind altering substances in addition to caffeine though, tea has some caffeine but it wont replace coffee. Coffee contains two mild pyscotropics, and an as yet unknown substance which stimulates production of cortisone and adrenaline. Decaff on the other hand usually contains trichloroethylene, methylene chloride, or ethyl actetate, none of which are very good for you.

Marlow DB is ideal, most of the sailing DBS are easy.

Looking good there. Learning on old rope is a seriously bad idea. DB is a bit mind bending, but I find it easier than 16 strand, the final bury can be awkward depending on how tight the weave of the cover, try a nice loose rope first if you can, sailing type DBs are ideal, or rigging ropes. Try to avoid the Blaze family until you have got the technique right and fancy a challenge!

I feed a labrador and an alaskan malamute on raw food for about £1.50 a day in meat, plus fruit and veg scraps from the kitchen, and the odd (free) raw bone from the butcher. No idea what dry food costs these days, switched to barf when we got the malamute a couple of years ago, and have never thought about changing back. The Lab was 7 when we switched, he wasnt too sure what to do with a raw chicken wing at first, but the puppy soon showed him, and he loves it now. Plus it completely cured his flatulence and weight issues. Poo doesnt smell as bad either. Win win really.

All raw food, minced meat and bone, turkey necks, tripe, some raw fruit and vegetables, and a small amount of porridge oats.

Half day on the 25th, (3pm finish). Special treat this year as its a Sunday, normally business as usual.

I would buy coke, vodka, and Lithuanian hookers. Whatever was left over I would just fritter away.

I run a 30" on my 660, 460 will handle a 30" but if you are doing a lot of cutting at full bar length 660 is the way to go.

I have been chased around a stem by a lump of wood the size of a house a few times. Sometimes you can step cut it, climb up a bit higher than the top of the work piece, and kick it off from a safe vantage point. Top roping is a valuable technique that should not be discounted, as with any rigging technique it should be properly planned and executed to avoid mishaps.

Clean metal and proper joint preparation is key to a good weld regardless of the process used. MMA may look like its doing a good job on dirty, rusty, or painted surfaces, but the final result will be a poor quality weld, with little fusion. If you need a really strong weld, even removing the mill scale from new steel is advisable, as is grinding a chamfer on the edges of the material to be joined, to improve penetration.

Oxford 280 amp single phase mig, on a 32 amp supply. Good solid british made welder, 280 amps is enough to weld 10mm thick steel. Looked for a second hand one for ages, but single phase welders fetch silly money secondhand, if you have a 3 phase supply then you will get a much better deal on a secondhand machine, plus 3 phase is better for welding anyway.

I have used an 880 with a 48" and a 3120 with a 42" up a tree, on several occasions. (Not both at the same time though) Not something I'm keen to repeat anytime soon tbh. If I have a really big stem to chog down with the 880, I usually start 5 or 6 cuts with a smaller saw, then slice them down. I usually find after 5 or 6 880 cuts its time for a brew anyway.

Yes, worth asking what is weighs empty, but as you say, bigger trucks are built heavier.

You don't need to downrate it, just downplate it which is a lot simpler. Fill in a form and send it off, job done. To run it at 4.6 tonne you would need C1 or C on your licence, and an O licence. The main disadvantage to downplating as others have said is you will have virtually no payload.

Prices are probably about right, but the market you are aiming for is tiny and very specialised imo. Plus stuffing brash into a 150 all day for £100 isn't my idea of fun, I think you would get bored with it pretty quickly.
