1. Some atlas some deodar. It's all at my yard so no real hurry.
2. Got some cedar to plank up, fancy doing some?
3. Hmm, that is a lot of money, I think I'll get the welder out.
4. How much? I was considering buying 2 cheapish 30 inch bars, sawing the noses off and welding them together.
5. Iv got 2 660s, what's the chances of getting a double ended milling bar for them?
6. All the bills from the garage, annual service and mot mostly, the only biggish item was rebuilding one of the rear half shafts, which was preventable really but I didn't spot it in time. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
7. Been very happy with my Navara, had it 4 years with no major issues, average maintenance costs probably £800 a year. If you tow heavy trailers though I'd look at ranger or d max. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
8. It's one thing to do it quietly out of necessity, filming it and uploading to YouTube is a whole different kettle of fish. Once you put yourself to public scrutiny you can't really complain about the response. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
9. I know that road well, there is no way I would attempt that. The flooded section of road is getting on for quarter of mile, twisty, quite narrow, with very soft verges and no kerb. There is no way of knowing how deep the water is all the way through from the start, and you can't see how strong the current is either. The driver made a great job of it, in a well equipped vehicle, but he was lucky to make it through without incident. The police could hardly say he was a hero and encourage others to follow his example, even the driver himself said he'd go the long way home.
10. You can get a short hopper, without a stop bar, with or without a conveyor in the bottom, for grab feeding. Obviously hand feeding that is a no no. The hoppers swap over really easily though, 2 blokes 10 minutes to change, and obviously you can do a bit of crane feeding big stuff into the hand feed hopper if your careful.
11. I think A may well cancel out C. Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App
12. Prices start at £1800, your welcome to come and have a look at my truck, been in regular use for two and a half years. The optional extras can add up, but that's the same with any tipper conversion.
13. Use an appropriate work positioning or fall arrest system, use a 3 way locking hook, LOLER cert within the last 6 months, crack on.
14. This ones better. [ame= ] [/ame]
15. Planning on doing a bit of ali? Sent using Arbtalk Mobile App

Hello,

If you buy a tipper for a ranger, it will fit other trucks, navara, and l200. The newest ranger is a lot bigger though so it probably won't fit that.

The complete unit with folding lockable sides is £2750 plus vat and shipping or fitting (£250 plus vat for either)

17. Thats exactly how I set mine up, but I never use a visor.
18. How do you go on with the visor and boom mike? Any conflicts?
19. Yes, there are sticky pads supplied, all reports say they are excellent. I went straight to drill and bolt, but obviously thats not an option for everyone.
20. Ranger single cab 4x4 is best in class at 1340kg.
21. Stihl don't sell a 42" 660 mount bar in the uk. It will run a 42, preferably with skip chain, but if you've got a 3120 sat there you would be mad not to use that.
22. Got any research or manufacturers advise to back that up Wolter? I am not aware of any research or other evidence to indicate whether petrol has any effect on ropes, therefore the only advice I can give is to bin it. I would probably still use it personally.
23. Plenty. Make sure you prep the weld properly, nice clean metal, grind the edges back if you welding thick material and make several runs. Does make me laugh when people recommend stick welders because they will "burn through all the dirt and rust". There must be a welding forum somewhere with advice to buy semi-chisel chain as it will cut right though all the dirt at the bottom of trees.
24. The new Paslode guns are supposed to be really good in cold weather.
25. If you don't want gas then arc is the only choice. The modern inverter units are really good, and will run from a 13 amp supply. This looks good, I have the plasma cutter from this range. IFL i-TECH 160 Inverter Arc Welder - Weldequip
