  1. If you need a good length bed, then look at the supercab variants of ranger/b2500/navara. Cab and a half rather than a double cab, plenty of room for crap behind the seats, but terrible for any unfortunate passengers in the back. Saying that, all double cabs are horrible for rear seat passengers, due to the crippling lack of legroom.
  2. Nice! It was worth climbing just to get that video!
  3. SK is Stockport, High Lane is somewhere over the Disley side, near the Peak District.
  4. Plus if you factor in unlimited quantities of free fuel, if you happen to be a tree surgeon, it starts to look very attractive.
  5. Thanks! So are you working for a firm then?
  6. Yup, Justin. (Jonesie)

    was this you

Totally agree, I wouldnt have hit the roof though, I would have sacked them on the spot. If you need that kind of adrenaline rush you should go snowboarding, not monkey around in the workplace. Very unprofessional.

    4X4 Advice??

Me and the missus used to kip in the back of my ranger. She preferred it to a tent!

    4X4 Advice??

Here ya go, its 2 years old, has everything, only done 20k miles, IG 10, and it will tow what you want and return the mpg. http://search.autotrader.co.uk/es-uk/www/cars/KIA+SPORTAGE/Ne-2-4-5-6-7-8-27-44-49-53-61-64-67-103-133-146-236,N-51-86-240-4294965274-4294966918/advert.action?R=200850325109484&distance=62&postcode=M28+3AE&channel=CARS&make=KIA&model=SPORTAGE&min_pr=7000&max_pr=&max_mileage=&vehicleYearOfManufacture=2006&vehicleRegLetter=06

    4X4 Advice??

Kia Sportage or Sorento, best value for money, best mpg, lowest street cred.
  12. I did consider it, but there was a cherry in the way, and I couldnt persuade the client to let me fell it. The garden isnt, no. The tree is now though, I fly tipped all the brash on your client's drive.
  13. Precision felling
  14. Sell it to Steve. He's always complaining about having no wood!
  15. Not if you find the right market. I can see it in very small very expensive bundles in a posh garden centre, being sold to put on barbeques and chimineas.
  16. Cue the naked man in boots wielding a large shotgun.
  17. Why, do you want a proper truck to replace your mog?!

    395xp or ms660?

All saws weigh the same once they are in a cut.

Your new avatar pic is pretty good too, never thought you'd scrub up that well in a wig.

  20. Matching helmet perchance? Don't tell me tree surgeons aren't vain!
  21. i had a tear in the miniscus stitched up a few years ago, which is quite unusual, apparently they normally just slice off the damaged bit. The knee was immobilised and non weight bearing for 3 months, so i was on crutches for that period. If they had just removed the damaged cartilage, I would have been walking again same day, in fact they encourage it as part of the recovery programme. Best of luck with the surgery.
  22. Haha, the plot thickens. I cant believe anyone would make that first post knowing that the other party was an active member here!
  23. Could you have strapped the split stem up and removed the big limb in small sections so as to avoid shock loading?
  24. The climbable/unclimbable argument can go on forever. The bottom line is that the climber inspected the tree on the day and decided that it was not safe to climb. For that I applaud you. If you think it is not worth risking a day's money over, then dont do it. I think its a little different if its your own business and your own job, at least you can inspect the tree and decide on your method on the day. Without having seen it, I cant say whether I would consider it safe to climb, I havent seen many trees that I wouldnt climb, but there has to be a first for everyone! Anyone who considers brainlessness a desirable quality in their staff is asking for trouble.

    Ouch!

That would be like getting paid for something you would do for free anyway then Matt?
