  1. Sorry, just re-read your post.
  2. What a load of flannel, hair tests at A+E!! The hand wringers are alive and well and still posting.
  3. Ha, check out the Planes in Queens square, we crown thinned them over ten years ago, I remember doing three to four a day as a contract climber.
  4. Well maybe but I spent much less on my TW including a rebuild, new rotator, bearings etc. But it helps if you can fix it yourself.
  5. BT recalled all their bucket trucks earlier this year, or was it last year? When a hoist boom cracked off, corrosion problem I was told.
  6. Most of the time I switch back to Ddrt to work the last part of the tree then come down but I swap between SRT and Ddrt all the time just for the hell of it.
  7. I agree with Peter especially as the loler inspector has just contradicted himself by saying the splices were perfectly safe. Also if the splices were correctly made then the hitch cord could only fail as a result of excessive wear and or a cut. Thanks for the reply.
  8. I just read about that 14 year old, crazy! Silent circle, they say absolutely no back doors but can we really be certain of that?
  9. Oh yeah cause the former 'regime' was so much better. :]

  12. Brother Mike, a new career? [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OYSrS9vpVIY&feature=youtube_gdata_player]Man 2 Man - Male Stripper (HQ) - YouTube[/ame] :]
  13. George Orwell should have given horse racing predictions such was his foresight.
  14. Light weights.
  15. Cheers Reg, rock climbing rope has been used by myself quite a few times but that was because that was the only rope long enough that the guy I was subbing for had:)
  16. Chortle.
  17. Setting the block 15ft below, what tree was that on Reg? Polydyne rope on that job?
  18. I use the Coos Bay cut also, especially on heavy leaning Willows.
  19. You can buy tungsten carbide chain but it's not cheap.
  20. You can just remove the blades from the rollers and give them a new edge, I just did the same to mine and it has made a huge difference.
  21. I don't know how you do it Rich. :]
  22. A little inspiration from Mike T taking the Petzl sling and adding zip ties and inner tube to create stiffness, I cut two pieces of plastic from a container lid added zip ties and the inner tube.
