  1. Looks like you're getting a day or so of strong winds up there.
  2. All the best mate:thumbup:
  3. be cheap enough to prune roots with and sling away, rather than mess up a lovely Silky:thumbup1:
  4. Colour aside (personal tastes differ) I like the shape of the helmet, and in particular the fact that the defenders and the visor do not stick out on the side. Obviously a lot of thought has gone into the ergonomics of this helmet.
  5. I'll try to remember to take a couple of pics if I get time tomorrow, cant find the paperwork at the minute, but the gap between anvil and blade should be 20thou/inch
  6. I'd stay in bed tomorrow if i were you, bad luck comes in 3's you know:001_smile:
  7. No they're not:aetsch:
  8. Keep the blades sharp, make sure the anvil gap is correct, and they are a good machine. Dont expect twin-roller 6inch tow behind performance, but for what they are they do a good job. Before I bought mine I ooked at the Greenmech as well, and tbh there was little difference between the two.
  9. Or dont be a dirty stop-out:001_tt2:
  10. I dont know if they still allow it, but in my teens they used to allow guided tours up the tower to the top, the view was astounding, and on a clear day you can see Ely Cathedral.
  11. Best of luck Bob, my brother in law had a stroke in his early 40's despite leading a healthy active life. If you were lucky enough to have had a mild stroke then all th better, its when you suffer permanent damage that its demoralising. All I can say is listen to your docs advice re diet, take your medication as required and good luck:thumbup1:
  12. Is that St Mary's church Alex or the Norman Tower? Since its been there since around the 13thC I doubt there's a lot you can do!! Earplugs maybe:biggrin:
  13. I used to fit as much as possible into a day, but now I'd rather finish in good time, get everything maintained and ready for the next day, go and price up after a shower and so on. All the time my kids were growing up I was grafting all hours just to feed and water them, and give the family what it needed. Now they've grown up, things are a lot easier, pressures off, and I can get on with enjoying my work.
  14. what do Wolf spiders eat Tony?
  15. Crane-tastic job there Stevie:thumbup:
  16. Thats one handy truck now Peter:thumbup:
  17. I know a bloke who got bitten by a spider, the flesh rotted right down to the bone, nasty. Poor sod's dead now.
  18. Its coz we're tree surgeons
  19. As a tenant, if a contractor wishes to work on any land I rent, I expect due respect from them, and in return they receive tea and biccies. I want to know why they are doing any work, and ensure it is left in a clean and tidy manner. As a tree worker, I will answer any queries with tact and diplomacy, keep it as short as possible without being abrupt or rude. If someone is rude or generally obnoxious, I politely tell them that I'm busy, and give them a contact number to call with their queries.
  20. MMmmmmmmm Foooooooood:drool:
  21. Put up plenty of pics mate, if you get time, be interesting to see all stages of how they are done:thumbup:
  22. Well, you're certainly getting a variety of work there, top stuff, and good to see some proper work being done:thumbup1:
  23. Strange, I just watched my local news on ITV and i'm sure they stated that Connaught Environmental would not be carrying out their contract with Norwich City Council? Or am I mistaken?
  24. sorry for the delay... all present & correct here Sir:thumbup1:
  25. We, by the nature of our work, can live in a very small world, that rotates around ourselves and our team seldom meeting let alone talking to other companies in our area. So to have a forum where we discuss an issue is vital. We are first and foremost, arborists, foresters, firewoodmen etc, we do it because we enjoy it, the business side of things is the hard side to grasp for many. What can seem obvious to one doesnt always make sense to others at first. We often ask a question, which we already believe our answer is the right one, then to our dismay 100 folk will jump in and criticize the way we work, but the advice here is nearly always borne of bitter experience. I'm glad Jon Lad finally came around and took this advice in the spirit intended, we are all here for each other.
