  1. Never pay anything to this lot, ever. When I handed over the case to Trading Standards they had enough to prosecute them. Even if you verbally agree to an advert with them, you have a cooling off period in which you can back out with no charge. On odd occasions they even send out "court summons" if you get one of these, simply call the courts to verify it, most of these are fake, and to issue one is a serious criminal offence. As has been said many times before, use your answerphone to screen calls, ignore calls from numbers you arent expecting from outside your usual area, and if in any doubt, contact ConsumerDirect, who will then pass the case onto Trading Standards. Treat your phone like a door, only let those in who you want in.
  2. I started this thread http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/business-management/1664-watch-out.html back in 08, having fallen victim at that time to the scammers, the MO is still the same Be Aware at all times when you answer the phone!!
  3. I called Chipper-Tech yesterday following the answerphone message, and the tale to date is that Mike has taken a month out, and will be re-assessing things in September. As for the Jo-Beau side, I have no knowledge beyond that.
  4. Why slate something a lot of us couldnt do? At least by doing a total re-furb, if you have any future problems you will know how to sort them. Good for you mate, good effort:thumbup1:
  5. When I strip something down, I try to lay the parts out in sequence, and same with the screws nuts & bolts. Get a bun tin, you know the ones with about a dozen small "bowls" for the mix, then as you remove screws etc, place them in correct order in each "bowl" so you can remember the sequence of removal.
  6. s she working now? and whats she called? Pukka rebuild:thumbup:
  7. If your using the Kubota for serious off-road work, keep in mind the choccy diffs will wear quickly. A local keeper rolled his the other day and the roll-cage literally collapsed. Not that I'm biased..... at all.....ever:biggrin:
  8. They werent lost, they were (the 2 guys) tree surgeons who popped in between the wedding service and going on to the reception, I had a brief chat to them.
  9. 600.... better than I'd estimated!! The facilities are as good as you'll get at any show. Camping... a big plus and it makes the whole event work better. The fire..... as before brilliant. The music... gave us something to chill to, and something to encourage Mark to shake his thang to. The catering... I take my hat off to the staff, they had a long weekend yet were still smiling all through. Overall a brilliant effort Justin, i think Mick has a good point over siting of your stand (marquee...supermarket?) The availability of a cooked breakfast was a definite plus this year:thumbup: The show was a good un, and if the same time next year will be the final event of the show season, so hopefully will have a higher attendance. Finally, we came in by sat-nav, had visited last year, so the signing wasnt essential to us, but was a little hard to see if you were trying to spot them. Any other show organisers, take a leaf from Justins book, listen to what we, the punters, actually want, those pennies are hard to earn and we dont give them away lightly!!
  10. Well you did it again Justin, a free to enter, free to camp show with a fire. Thank you, you've raised the bar for other shows now. Thanks also to the guys who turned up and made the evening a great party, and thanks to everyone else who have got behind and supported Justin in this tight economic climate to make this happen. Thanks Kingswood for a superb venue, and thanks for those who took time to do the seminars. See you soon at the APF
  11. Good,you know how camera-shy I am! See you there sometime Dave:thumbup1:
  12. I'm sure it'll not affect our partying spirit, well Mark wont even notice it I doubt:biggrin: Not of course that I shall partake in any of that nasty alcoholic stuff, as usual:001_smile:
  13. Wedges are a tool that lifts a load........... A ramp is a tool that lifts a load..... a grcs can lift a load

  16. Maybe a good idea to say where you are, and get someone from here near to you to help set something up?
  17. Problem is you would have to get someone else to set the rigging system up.

  21. The arm or the hedge?
  22. Seriously, I trimmed it all over with hedgetrimmer, then finished all the edges and corners with topiary shears. A woman stopped and told me that "at Sissinghurst, they clip them properly, with nail scissors"!! Blow that, sez I:001_rolleyes:
  23. Nail scissors:thumbup:
  24. 8.30 til 1.30 with a couple of breaks to relieve the excitement:001_smile:
