  1. Innovative .... maybe.... and maybe the solution to a problem they came across..... or is it a problem needing solving:001_rolleyes:
  2. Been there, had the t-shirt......
  3. Dunno, but he talks kinda funny:biggrin:
  4. Sorry, I thought you meant it was against the law to use white in a chipper, my bad:blushing:
  5. In all the time I've worked across farmland I've never had an issue with them over this, what they dont like is a big pile of mess left in their way, hell they've even supplied tractor and trailer to chip into so they can use it!
  6. I think I may have heard of someone running an operation in that neck of the woods:laugh1:
  7. If they broadcast the chip it wouldnt be an issue
  8. Tbh I didnt notice, and B101 has a good point about the pto, I didnt think of that, would have been a cheaper and more sensible (?) idea
  9. Being ignorant of these issues, why cant they seal/fix the leak before the tree comes down? Then replace pipe or whatever at a later date.
  10. Hmmm a combination of the best of British engineering:001_rolleyes: Surely this was built as a showpiece? Buck too small to be practical I'd think. If you're off-road working, surely you'd be chipping on the ground anyway? I'd have had a tool-store where the chip-bin is. Wasnt impressed tbh. I also doubt many of you vertically challenged types would like to feed the chipper at that height.
  11. Personally I wouldnt swap bars from saw to saw, keep everything "good to go" in case of breakdowns etc. Oregon make bars and chains to fit Stihl, but they wont fit huskies and vice versa. Oregon chain will go on a Stihl bar, Stihl chain will go on an Oregon bar, just when ordering/buying you make sure you tell them what saw its for.
  12. Haha I hadnt been there that long myself, good to see you too:thumbup1: Hope you enjoyed the show:001_smile:
  13. Has it gone yet?
  14. I think you're referring to the 425, low-end budget husky topper, the all new, singing dancing power-house T540xp is a completely new saw.
  15. It had caps on the ends of the uprghts for the show.
  16. If you wish to "try before you buy" I have Bashlins with twisted shank, we could meet up for you to have a go
  17. Nice pair of Stretch-Airs (not hi-viz!!) Gerry Beraneks series 2 DVD collection (coooool) a pair f Stihk braces for the trousies to try and protect the zip, some alcohol, some more alcohol and even more alcohol
  18. The way i see it is that if it shaves time off each job, makes the jobs less tiring on clear ups, the crews will be more productive day after day so it would soon pay for itself. We have latest technology available for just about every aspect of Arb work, from lowering devices, advanced spec ropes, modern saws, Hiabs to lift, grinders to grind. Yet the basic part of the job, and the most important part, is getting the brash and logs from point A to point B, has been over-looked for too long. A good product, well thought out and designed, yet simple and rigorous for everyday use, nice one Reg and Stein:thumbup1:
  19. You coming up tomorrow (Friday) then? Felix?
  20. Bit of a busy day, crashing out a hung-up pop, then banging out various other pops to clear adjacent houses. 11kv line right at the bottom of the pic, mate Matt on form topping out a pop stem.
  21. APF virgin:biggrin:
  22. One word of caution maybe, as you make the finish cut, from the underside, as the trunk peels away, the nose of the saw bar hits the "step", which would surely put you in a very high risk of kickback. As you state, not for beginners.
  23. I've had the benefit of enjoying this forum since the beginning, seeing it grow and flourish to the stage its at now, meeting more and more of you at the various shows and so on. Its just great, and you guys all make it what it is. If anyone chooses to be a "supporting member" its quite simple, click on the "Donate" button right at the bottom of the pages, any funds raised go to help maintain and improve the site for our benefits. This is totally voluntary.
  24. Seems to me he had the chance and blew it, sell them elsewhere. I hope you had waited for cheques before sending the saws out. Some people eh!
