  1. The worst news Dean. My thoughts go out to his family and friends
  2. just shorten every thing to text speak- oh sorry your an old man and hate that
  3. Scary indeed. I don't see the point of taking such a large pick in that situation as the crown still nneds to be broken down on the floor. Good on him for posting so candily and honestly
  4. The wire gives him exra traction
  5. Rule of 3 has alot to be said for it
  6. Nice Tim. Derail, slander and intollerance. From Jason having the balls to post his own mistakes, with the view to warn others. To your derision of other members for doing little more than refusing to agree with you. It takes a talented TROLL to engineer such a turn in a thread. So go on, be a good TROLL and disapear back under the stone from whence you came
  7. Prefers pink as the blue clashes with his bra n nickers!
  8. Read the statement carefully Tim before replying. There is best practice in place, there has also been a thorough study in the use of climbing saws HSE funded), which concluded that one handed operation is not acceptable. So therefore further legislation is uneccesary. I was trying to get someone to sugest that a change in perspective and educational practices might be a possible solution, but however your selective reading - which is nothing new to your posting, has dragged this thread into negative discourse, as opposed to positivley contributing to a debate that you hold strong views on.
  9. If that is you chosen method of educating climbers i'm not suprised you get such a response. I'd probably give you the identical reply(worse to be honest) if you spoke to me in that manner. This is not an issue of further legislation, as it is already deemed unacceptable, and deffo not "good practice". So why would you ask the HSE and arbritary self appointed and non regulated bodies to remedy your issues?
  10. You find my car jack yet Ed?
  11. You should have just posted that last pic Ed. It looks as though Matt is doing the towing, but then again seeing him get stuck, well.........
  12. He walk, breathes, shares his misfortune and mistakes for others to learn from............... oh sorry, we should all commit suicide as the world is ending, hence no positive posibilities in this life as we know it:scared1:
  13. How did your day go?
  14. Peter (18stoner) has one. With a muffler modification it's a good little saw
  15. YOU MUPPET! sorry but that's my opinion. Mend well and enjoy the meds
  16. I agree with the TDS and observation, but why subject yourself to the posibility? There are so many knots out there whithout the same inherant problems
  17. you better be sharing!
  18. You will require a separate feed from your consumer box to your workshop, then a 2nd consumer box in there if memory serves me. I no longer have current regs, but i'd give a sparky a ring if i were you. You could always prep the site for them to connect it all up to the mains feed if you get the right info
  19. 8in plus with 53hp might be a real stretch. I'd be wanting 90plus for an 8in machine
  20. Farmi or TP
  21. So many factors to consider. Degree of rot/decay, stability, necessity to rig etc My judgement is on a tree by tree basis
  22. Is this going to be a process? As in will you continually reduce the tree each time reducing it's crown size and hopefully maintain a viable canopy?
  23. i think it would be good to brutalise a tree for a comparison. Maybe my less orthodox pruning may provide similar strong apical regrowth:001_tongue:
  24. Do you think that the painstaking effort of cornet cutting of each limb, compared to crude reduction with tears etc makes any diference in the patterns of regrowth and vigour?
