  1. This guy has got the HSE sussed.................
  2. Increasing and tightening legislation without enforcement ( unless it is post accident or incident ) is a sure way to loose respect from the industry, as well as kill off compliant but marginally profitable companies. You hit the nail on the head Iain
  3. A little too steep for me
  4. Good point Paul. However it has been a while since i have seen the proliferation of self-seeed sycamores i remember over a decade ago. Anyone else notice this?
  5. As has been said- if natrural crotch is used then the force is into the stem, as opposed to a block which is hanging from it, hence loading as opposed to disapaiting the force through it. Spydie has the answers http://www.mytreelessons.com/Pages/Tensionless_Anchors.htm
  6. Be nice if Graeme or Angus could post it. A great method of felling for special circumstances, tree and skill levels permitting
  7. It was Graeme McMahon- in southern OZ. Here is a pic i pinched from a TBuzz thread on it
  8. Did recieve either written instruction, comformation of works or quotation from the occupier of the property?
  9. What about the side-loading if the two points are not in line?
  10. It sometimes takes such an irrational response to make you study your actions, realise that you are in the right and feel comfortable that the world is mad, and you are it's last hope for sanity p.s. I recon the lady complainant get's out a little more:001_tongue:
  11. Yup - locked box or they are fair game:001_cool:
  12. Wish i'd not asked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  13. Hope that grease gun is full of KY if it's a suppository:scared1:
  14. Interesting thread, guess I should thank a few people; 18 stoner for allowing the theft of his stale bread and cheese butty - the peparami was cool though. For letting me swan around in a nice easy tree and for persuading the customer to make coffee constantly For all those climbers in East yorkshire for being suitably inept so i could get the work:001_tongue: And last but not least all those members here on ArbTalk who have been so complimentary about me Laters dudes:001_cool:
  15. http://www.aie.org.uk/ This is a good place to start........
  16. Good luck. Be methodical and measured. You have the rest of your career to hurl yourself around a tree!
  17. I have looked over it briefly and am impressed with the comprehensive and thorough nature of it. My BIG question is, that it being a HSE publication, does this document now become "BEST PRACTICE" for the industry and how will it's findings effect us in our working day?
  18. Thought you had been sniffing wine gums mate:001_tongue:
  19. Your nearly as twisted as Huskyboy:001_tongue:
  20. 660 for me. But good dealer support is more critical thean the choice between them
  21. Ozzie mate Derek having a quick cup of coffee:001_cool:
  22. Hope it's on the road soon Dave. If you get some time off try and chill and enjoy it
  23. who's bringing lunch?
  24. 18stoner then - for when he's not hedge hopping
  25. No comment yet as I have not had time to read all 300 plus pages:scared1: http://www.tree-consult.org/images/pdf/eng/RR668_Rigging.pdf
