  1. Buy a 6in chipper to wear it will be lighter:001_tongue:
  2. Or anther option is............ http://lmgtfy.com/?q=what+is+a+trango+cinch or http://lmgtfy.com/?q=what+is+a+ART+positioner hehehehehe
  3. Art positioner; http://www.treeworker.co.uk/acatalog/Advanced_Ropeclimbing_Technology_6.html Cinch;http://www.honeybros.com/index.php?sid=y296o33o22h26supmy4pa9r1w2mk3711&app=gbu0&ns=prodsearchp&gbu0--prodsearch--string=cinch&SUBMIT=Online+Store+Search
  4. I use a shunt above my ascender; no chest harness. For shorter ascents I don't see the point of them
  5. I'd not be a fan of a VT in that configuration. I would recomend something such as a croll or even with a closed cam such as a shunt. 100% reliable is a prerequisite for me
  6. Art positioners work well on wirecores apparently, not tried myself. I use the cinch on the leftside, no issues as yet
  7. Hitch, cinch or art positioner are preferable for me. They all can be released in a controlled fasion whilst under tension.
  8. As I say whenever anyone asks this question - TRY BEFORE YOU BUY! money and recomendations are worthless when is comes to personal comfort
  9. porting saws ; http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=1309&highlight=porting
  10. That looks sore. Not your nose picking finger I hope. How did it happen?
  11. no comment:scared1:
  12. your really a baboon?
  13. Focus, concentration and an attention to detail.
  14. I'm with Ed on this. I feel so shallow (and comfortable with it)
  15. Nice work. The hanger in the oak did not look too kind to deal with
  16. Tidy felling Nigel !
  17. Nice looking job and some cool pics
  18. Planting trowels? I was reaching for the cotton wool buds! It's cool by me, just being the anti to the christ
  19. Large MEWP for the bad stuff, plus you can always utilise it for putting your climbers into the trees better suited to climb. Faster and more efficient
  20. I agreee with you logic, but in the pic your rope angles is shallow, hence the force placed on the downward facing lateral would be relativley large? (specificaly horizontally) as oposed to with a higher TIP? p.s. I know pics can be decieving
  21. You need to run a ported one. Will out-cut a stock 260 with a 14in bar in smaller wood. Besides who would want to carry such a saw around a tree working on small timber? As for the saw-pod. I'm not a fan. Guess I am too clumsy as I spent half of my time getting my silky tied to my rope to retrieve it from the ground. It is however comfortable and well concieved. The one I won in the raffle has been sent to a much appreciated home.
  22. Narrowing indicates damage to the core. I'd cut the damage out, remark as shorter lines and get some more work out of them
  23. Some footage from today whilst working for Pete (18+ stoner). We had a fair few trees to drop, and i managed to cobble this together. For some reason youtube did not get the audio sound track, but Pete says it's best when you play- Take That whilst watching, (his favorite) but i haven't the balls to try it p.s. go easy folks, never edited before [ame] [/ame]
  24. I'm older, non the wiser and a little more cynical for that. Thanks?
  25. Great news ! I have a great contact there if the others don't work out. An ex-groundie of mine runs a company out there
