  1. Arborist rope is semi static. Climbing on static line would be really nasty if you had even a small fall.
  2. It it happening at Deans? If so who is organising it? I have spoken with him and we will help out sorting the basic things, however a decision need to be made sooner rather than later. Deans is about 10 mins from junc 24 of the M62 (huddersfield) for those who have not been before
  3. I always base my reductions on percentage removal of canopy, not height or size.
  4. Wait til i've finished my beauty therapy diploma. I have your standards to upkeep:001_cool:
  5. So if you own a freelander you are ; gay, a hairdresser, have exclusive parking outside the blue oyster club and a townie. How's your burgandy freelander running Mr Bullman?
  6. you mean pain aversion:scared1:
  7. I bet it's a north-wales special. Dodgy bunch of blokes, led by a fat guy, driving landrovers & running amock
  8. The wikapedia definition of arborist is very broad in spectrum and inclusive of many things we include under the title "tree surgeon" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arborist I may be by definition an arborist, however I do not define myself or others within the arb or related industry by limiting titles. Why would I percieve that another worker is of lesser standard due to the monicer or title that they bestow upon themselves or others upon them?
  9. your not certified to prune or dimantle by rigging ...................................................................................................................... ! that's an opinion through reading the AFAG guidane and NPTC assesment notes
  10. 0 to 1% actual faliures. I think it has a high potential to fail though which would be what i based my decion upon
  11. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pruning Read some more from other sources too. The better educated you can become, the better your decision making and pruning will be

    Fun

Serious timber going down, looks amazing fun:001_cool: [ame] [/ame]
  13. £1300 - chip as much as is possible, possibly even slab some timber to chip. would save an immense amount of time
  14. No idea- the longer I worked on the tree the smaller it got. Comparing it to your tree it appears to be over 300ft:001_tongue:
  15. Some pics from monday working with Big Ammer. Staring Nigel (not pictured thankfully) and groundscum Chris and Dave ( left and right). Reduced to 7m as per spec.
  16. Speed and power are different things. my 440 will outcut my 660 on a 2ft log, but the 440 will not pull a 3ft bar. Sorry not an answer but trying to establish the context
  17. 660 with a 30in, or a 460 with a 25. 880 is only for huge trees in my books. I seldom have come across a tree that needs one
  18. that's far enough. Thanks for keeping us informed Hollands
  19. cool- just think, if you had got your lazy ass out of bed at a decent hour you could have had an early finish:001_tongue:
  20. Great use of your kit Dave. How long did it take?
  21. Enjoy those bed baths from the pretty nurses dude :)

  22. Love mine on the tree motion. Less tangles and twist makes for easier climbing
  23. Start a thread in the employment section. I'm sure you will have offers
  24. That's ruined my friday. My thoughts are with him and I hope he recovers quick and well.
  25. Ha, you wish. Butchers are skilled individuals
