  3. you mean "clip the saw high" when moving around the tree? If so do you use an extra krab?
  4. Another day another dollar:icon14: All done bar the chipping and a couple of logs on the roof
  5. Not the best pics but it gives you an idea of the forces involved in the rigging process. I'm not sujesting a calculator in a tree but it might help after reading this:scared: It makes you consider your rope angles through the block/s a little too
  6. That's what the wine is for I'll leave out the bit about the syrup of figs for breakfast:wave:
  7. codeine sulphate and a glass of wine, followed by a comfy bed even

  13. wondered what that HUGE banner across the top of the screen was
  14. Bonnie having a bad bad day. Rushed to the vets this morning with partial paralysis. Will find out the news good or bad on monday, but until then the old lady is feeling sorry for herself.
  15. I have and am wary of it. It's better than using a fishermans/scaffold knot!!!
  16. Make sure you use you thumb on the throttle, to keep the saw level and try using a pushing chain. It's harder to control the saw, but easier to see the progression of the cut, the height and if the bar is 90 degrees to the felling direction.
  17. Got a few ropes you can look at for next month if you want ?
  18. Nice Dean, they are good pieces of kit imho.
  19. Fantastic Reg. You will have to tell us how you get on with it. Lots of pics and video please
  20. If it does i'm glad you never hear these two in person!
  21. Fair enough Bob. That was some climbing you did in the wind. Awesome work, you must have had your brass balls with you that day
  22. Saw a couple of paddys working on them today:wave:
  23. That made me laugh!!!
  24. As bob said locksmiths. GT85 is great, especially for silky blades, the teflon helps reduce sap build up
  25. Windblown trees can be hard work. I cut my teeth in forestry by doing months of it. Was never put through my ticket though. I don't know if it would be of value to me now unless its related to storm work in the arb field
