  1. Both 200t's both 260's, 440 and 460 all have had the exhausts opened up, i'm waiting to get the 660 done. Amazing difference imho. You have to richen the carbs up though as they will run very lean
  2. Found this reprobate working near me felling a storm damaged poplar. I tried to pursuade him to top the tree (even phoned Ed for support), but he wasnt having it! Nice work on a crappy tree By the looks of things you need to have your hands in you pockets to work for Dean (Pecontools)!!
  3. Always read the thread title when your lost in your own effluent:wave:
  4. looks like you made extra effort with that one bob. Too tidy for one of mine
  5. If you don't know what your doing they are an exellent starting point. Is that not there purpose? They do not teach exellance but basic competance
  6. No sense of humour being quoted here TM, it's the law of survival. Ben if you do that kind of work out of preference, as opposed to neccesity, with the knowledge of an arborist then you have a status much lower than a gypo! All said and done, too much has been said before and i'm not interested in revisiting it again so i'm bowing out of this thread
  7. Do some reading also, i.e. http://www.jonsered.com/frameset.aspx
  8. Dean,I could walk you around edgerton and point at at least 5 mature trees i've hacked contracting. It's the same old story, go under or cut the tree. choice is a fine thing
  9. I hate butchering trees, but as a contract climber it's often point and shoot. It can ruin my day, but think of the money and when working for yourself maintain the standards. Pay the bills, put food on the table and DO THE BEST YOU CAN
  10. have you any pictures of these trees?
  11. cos there crap?
  12. I'm in agreement with the incremental removal of the conopy. I'd also look at replanting some decent sized replacements to pollard and try and cover the eventuality of some of the worst dieing
  13. Storm damage is always fun!!! Did you bother lashing the remaining ones to the other trees or are they hung up well enough
  14. So you will take the Mrs on your day trip if you go then?
  15. Do they sell them in Holland Pete? Nice quick ferry trip for you
  16. tried usual arb insurers? they might at least have a start point if they don't offer cover themselves
  17. Had to delete and resize them as there is not too much space on the server for pics. PITA
  18. Hack, slash butcher n chop! gotta love it
  19. Well with the amount I drink it deffo means I aint full of crap!
  20. Never happen. I only ever drink coffee:wave:
  21. That's Bob's co worker John. Council rules by all accounts
  22. Some random ones. Note Bob's answer to being too much of a skinflint to buy a Mog, and John teaching my groundie to fell.
  23. Nice Carl. Well i've got some catching up to do on this thread. First ones are from Harewood house, near Leeds. I was helping Craig (Judge) to do some nice delicate work on some spectacular trees. Great bunch of lads to work with, I enjoyed it for sure
  24. basic buissness- if you have a grinder then sell it's use, if not then try and avoid it. I do loose a percentage of jobs on the price of grinding, annoying but thats life
  25. I'll also disagree on the blade being the cause of the bearings collapsing. I've had to replace mine 3 times now (it has done 1800plus hours though) and i've always maintained sharp blades. It's just a design fault that has never been rectified imo. Any chipper at 6in capacity and weighing 750kg or less with a deisel engine has to compromise somewhere. Each manufacturer just seems to choose a different place to save the weight.
