  1. have you any pictures of these trees?
  2. cos there crap?
  3. I'm in agreement with the incremental removal of the conopy. I'd also look at replanting some decent sized replacements to pollard and try and cover the eventuality of some of the worst dieing
  4. Storm damage is always fun!!! Did you bother lashing the remaining ones to the other trees or are they hung up well enough
  5. So you will take the Mrs on your day trip if you go then?
  6. Do they sell them in Holland Pete? Nice quick ferry trip for you
  7. tried usual arb insurers? they might at least have a start point if they don't offer cover themselves
  8. Had to delete and resize them as there is not too much space on the server for pics. PITA
  9. Hack, slash butcher n chop! gotta love it
  10. Well with the amount I drink it deffo means I aint full of crap!
  11. Never happen. I only ever drink coffee:wave:
  12. That's Bob's co worker John. Council rules by all accounts
  13. Some random ones. Note Bob's answer to being too much of a skinflint to buy a Mog, and John teaching my groundie to fell.
  14. Nice Carl. Well i've got some catching up to do on this thread. First ones are from Harewood house, near Leeds. I was helping Craig (Judge) to do some nice delicate work on some spectacular trees. Great bunch of lads to work with, I enjoyed it for sure
  15. basic buissness- if you have a grinder then sell it's use, if not then try and avoid it. I do loose a percentage of jobs on the price of grinding, annoying but thats life
  16. I'll also disagree on the blade being the cause of the bearings collapsing. I've had to replace mine 3 times now (it has done 1800plus hours though) and i've always maintained sharp blades. It's just a design fault that has never been rectified imo. Any chipper at 6in capacity and weighing 750kg or less with a deisel engine has to compromise somewhere. Each manufacturer just seems to choose a different place to save the weight.
  17. Never had an issue with the velcro. I prefer it as the straps are wider and don't cut in the same as the leather ones
  18. As said before nice toys, and an intellgent way to use them!
  19. Trollish attitude but eloborate all the same please.
  20. Nice smooth operation. Thanks for sharing
  21. They got the top of the first one nice and level. Better than my hedging lol
  22. Back on track folks, fun it was but nasty it's getting. Time to chill out as I hate any form of editing or deletion of posts. Play nice now ladies:)
  23. You are incorrect there. Lowering is classed as lifting, i.e. a load is suspended therefore comes under LOLER. However rigging kit is checked at a lesser interval of 12months. It's the same old story imho that the companies that need there kit checking are the ones that never will
  24. As He said. You should get everything marked, and supplied with i.d. etc and certificates of comformity WHEN PURCHASED
  25. There is a weigh bridge at Bamforths scrap yard in milnsbridge. Give em a few for there troubles and there happy
