Landlord fells tree

I hope this thread is in the right place... not sure it is.

Right, this has nothing to do with me, only that a friend is renting the property from the guy in the photo.

The tree was dead or so my friend says and the landlord called by to fell the tree. As far as I'm aware, no one was injured, other than the guy's hearing, though maybe he's already deaf. And nobody's property was damaged.

But I thought this might interest some and dismay others. Or both to all.

He's not wearing PPE but other than that he looks like he knows what he's doing. It's his house, his tree, nobody has employed him to do the job - I can't see a problem myself. If he chooses to not wear PPE that's up to him -I personally wouldn't use a chainsaw without but we live in a free country!

In fact, it looks like he's better at felling than the lads who dropped the poplar across the road in the recent thread!...

I'd suggest it's a "workplace" rather than a domestic / DIY scenario so HSE regs would (should) have been applied.

He's done it..... Nobody died..... Can't be un-done.... - shouldn't be too bothered really.

Worse things happen....

How so? he owns the property what has it got to do with HSE?

Am I missing something?
