tonight's offerings to the back door god were conny clippings,

Hang on there....

What happened to:

"...We've all been sat in the middle of the dead tops looking 20' to each side at the regrowth wanting to plunge a topper into our heart and end it all...."

Have you been going out the house all kitted up, spent the day in the pub, then grabbed some random hedgerow greenery to stuff down your shirt before you get home......???

That's what concerns me.  Boris certainly isn't the loveable balloon he pretends to be.  His evident disdain for human life, makes him a bit of a head case, in my eyes.

Are you perhaps cutting him a bit of a tough deal there Mark?  Not disagreeing just for the sake of it (unusually) serious question...

No doubt what he said could be (has been) described as tactless and crass, but is it disdain for human life?  Those that are dead are already dead, those that aren't, well, they aren't.  Are we better hand-wringing over those that have passed already (maybe if it leads to a change in the way such issues are addressed in the future) or are we better trying to look to the future.  Or are we better just keeping the hell out of it - for better or worse?

As foreign secretary, he's not really diplomatic is he?  As for the human beings (bodies) who've mostly needlessly died, I think his position is that of someone with little empathy and scant regard for his fellow man.

Stupid, Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson, isn't Mr E.

Educated at Eton and Oxford, President of the Oxford Union, journalist with the Times, editor of the Spectator, London Mayor and Foreign Secretary....

Lest we forget, he had a cult like following as London Mayor - crowds chanting his name and I think it'd be a fairly safe bet that he WILL be PM one day.

An article I read recently was claiming that many of the most successful people, particularly in business, had a particular character trait - a lackey of empathy for those around them.

Strangely enough this a trait shared by psychopaths.

So maybe not stupid per se...

edit. Charles Manson also had a cult like following:D
