He said how many mass shootings in UK- you

UK shootings. No idea. London, probably one happening now. What does it matter anyway?

To me it seemed as though you were not giving any concern at all to the point being made that mass shootings in UK are rare, compared to US.

Mass shootings - it seems like you wouldn't really care if mass shootings started happening frequently here (on a par with US, proportionate to our one fifth population size), as long as people can all carry a gun for self defense thats the most important thing?

OK. I follow.

I'd be deeply concerned. I don't want to live in a violent shithole. The problem is that it's already a violent shithole. Anyone who wants to use violence for whatever, can. Most people here are so milquetoast that the concept of foreceful resistance is alien. There's a poem called, "AMERICA IS A GUN." There might as well also be one called, "ENGLAND IS A CRIME REFERENCE NUMBER AND A DISAPPOINTING ENGAGEMENT WITH THE HOME AND CONTENTS INSURERS."

Now as it happens, I do have an amount of faith in the English condition, that some freedom wouldn't boil over all brashly like it does in other countries. I like to think we're capable of restraint and tolerance etc. Or at least that the weather is bad enough to keep tempers broadly cool.

But that is still a secondary consideration. My primary interest remains the rights of the individual. I don't see why anybody should be owned more than they can own themselves.

Can you tell me the last time a mass shooting was carried out in the UK with a handgun? I'm not aware of any since Dunblane, but i stand to be corrected.

Equally, can you tell us any that were carried out prior to dunblane? There’s just no accounting for nutters unfortunately

A nutter whose licence should have been revoked long before he did what he did. Huge police failings for which law abiding pistol shooters were made to pay the price, typically Labour had to take it to the next level when they banned 22rf pistols, even those used in major events like the Olympics.

” We have taken handguns off the streets of the UK” 🤔 make your mind up how that went.

Hungerford was a semi-auto, Joe was talking specifically about handguns.

It was also un registered,so changing the gun law didnt effect those ones.

Valid point.

I don't think the firearm system in the UK is perfect by any stretch, but to make concealable firearms available to anyone for the purpose of self defence is a steep downward spiral in my opinion.

I'd love to be able to use a registered pistol for the purposes for target shooting mind.
