There's actually a lot more to life than being part of a tribe.

The tribe is strong, the collective is strong, the nation is strong - the atomised, isolated individual is weak, he may have deluded himself into thinking he lives a more free life than the tribe but he lives in a world where the rules are set by the tribe.

The ‘free’ individual has the sword of Damocles suspended over his ‘empowering free life’. Wether the sword drops at any time is at the will and whim of the tribe.

Imagine the Palestinians as atomised individuals disinterested in their tribal loyalties - they would’ve been crushed by the Israelis decades ago. The strength of the Palestinian tribe means they still exist today and that same tribal loyalty will mean they still exist in another 1000 years.

You have a weak grasp of history and human behaviour.

Thanks for the lesson on isms and ists! It's all a bit us and them though isn't it?

There's actually a lot more to life than being part of a tribe. You should try to experience the world outside the pond, and away from the keyboard, now and again. Being in a herd isn't necessary.

Oh, 42’s seen which way the winds blowing again and is offering up some verbal diarrhoea to feel included.  Bless.

Not really my little mate, there doesn't seem to be a prevailing wind in here at present, just a load of old guff from all directions as normal. And as if to illustrate the point, look who should pipe up with this little malodorous little gust?!

So this must be a tribal thing as well; being overly concerned about which end of the pond you inhabit.

Most of us have evolved beyond pond life now chap, so don't need to concern ourselves with which end we and others are in.

The interesting thing is the comments from people after that Twitter video. Their observations of things that were better about life back then in 1967. For instance:-
People talking to each other due to no mobile phones,
No fast food rubbish everywhere
No obese people
No food grazing

What an example of censorship!  You would have to search YouTube for "The photo which tells all you should know about the Israel-Gaza conflict" since "they" have decided that Sky News Australia might be too "offensive" for some delicate limp wristers.
