We were thinking of going to Cornwall in June before the schools break. Even then I reckon it might be swamped so having second thoughts. I’d be quite happy to stay home but the missus is bored stupid and just wants to get away. Italy was on the cards for June but that’s looking increasingly unlikely

Any foreign holiday this year is a reckless gamble.

I don’t generally like holidays, I just spend my time fretting about work or stuff I should / could be doing at home.

That said, I’d give a test-tickle for a week on a sun bed drinking cold beer and eating calamari right now.

Maybe next year...

In our case it’s not strictly a foreign holiday. My girlfriends from Italy and we are very keen for them to see their 13 month old grand daughter who they have so far only spent 1 week with.

aside from that I agree in general with forgoing foreign holidays. 1 year or 2 won’t kill most people

Just because you don’t like holidays doesn’t mean others don’t.
I think reckless gamble is over dramatizing it a bit.

I think if you’re vaccinated and it’s a low risk country then it should be ok.

don't think foreign hols be on until the autumn at the least due to the low vaccinations in the EU. Nothing will be open.

Looking at the utter shambles that is the EU vaccination 'plan' thank god we got out of the EU when we did.

Much humble pie being eating by the remoaners.

I stand by the statement Mick - especially as relates to foreign holidays.

Whilst over dramatisation and poetic licence are notably favoured delivery methods, it was not a deliberate act of exaggeration in this case.

I genuinely believe you’d be gambling against losing your booking to cancellation, having additional quarantine or travel restrictions imposed dependant upon emergent circumstances AND playing fast and loose with the potential of prolonging the global impact

That’s where it gets more complicated, it’s going to be a difficult transition back to reinstating the general rights of freedom to travel - for whatever reason.

Sarah Everard, Priti shitting her kecks, the Met piling into a load of women, you think it's right?

Just pulling ya chain mucker.

I wouldn’t apply my previous caveat to all attendees at a protest / demo but I’m sure we’d agree, regardless of the authenticity of the protest cause - there is always “that” small element which infiltrates and exploits a scenario to further their own nefarious (usually Marxist / anarchist) cause - regardless of how just or noble the original cause.

It’s them I was referring to, not the majority, well intentioned, decent but outraged aunty Marge at the Poll tax riots.
