Personally I would bin any discussion of politics or religion from ARB talk.

Members who post on these threads (even if they are from a tree working background) have absolutely no idea of the damage they do to the sites reputation and its appeal to those who just want the site to stick to its fundamental original purpose, which is to talk about trees.

You lot have highjacked it for your own selfish agendas.

Shame on you all.

Well why don't you David? It's an honest question.

If you don't think the subject adds to the site, I don't, close it. If a small minority of members take umbrage at an 'executive decision' , throw their toys out of the pram and leave, so be it.

I've been told by at least one knowleable and supportative member that they've left because the site has just become too confrontational

I did fire a diversionary shot mid way about Roger Moore dyeing last week but it bounced off the " Kevlar " and was completely ignored

I agree with what you are saying to a point, David, but I think the problem stems from members whose sole purpose is trolling. As long as they remain and people keep responding to their comments, which are designed solely to be inflammatory and offensive, then the problem will continue and people will continue to drift away. It's a shame these cockwombles have nothing better to do than try to damage a great forum but then some people are just that pathetic. :001_rolleyes:

I really heard similar. I see a bit of crossover from the Facebook groups but most guys I know on there don't use this site anymore

Using the forum is like a pub analogy, if you go to the pub and are only allowed to talk about 1 topic and are banned from talking about others you'll quickly get bored regurgitate the same stuff and find another pub!

This thread is relevant to lots of people and interesting to see lots of people's views.

You can always post on other threads and ignore this one.
