I was listening to a fella on the wireless earlier, he claimed to earn £400k/year, he said he would be £12k up... he also said he wouldn't be spending anymore money than he does now.

Trickle down, I ask ya!?

If you feel your vote counts, you’ve been had.

the expensively educated have it! Never been any different!

He did. He’s a prick who spends his arbtalk time trying to pretend he’s not a prick.

Lol razor sharp and as always on a fri night an insightful and well thought out post 🤔” ok maybe not eh” you on the sauce again it would seem Mull. So in your eyes being a prick is giving a **************** about those whom might be struggling  as opposed to those whom are boasting about their day rates and welcoming interest rate hikes to presumably boost their savings. There’s me thinking you were an SNP socialist type too 🙄

if you’re heavily mortgaged and all your big kit is on tick there could be trouble ahead, if you’ve got your first million on deposit in the Nationwide you may have a bit more of a skip in your step.

I'm pretty much directly in the middle of that scale, haven't a lot of money and don't earn much nowadays, but ain't got tuppence of debt.

Should I be happy or sad?

Of whom doth thou speaketh of?

Could it be he who claims to earn nearly £1000 per hour?

He might only work one hour a week, being retarded? 😂

Indeed it is 😂😂

You might be right about only working an hour what with the new interest rates etc

Are you content??

With my own lot yes.

But I can't be content with the state of the world as it is.

A young fella hung himself on my in-laws estate a couple of days ago while his parents were on holiday.

Turns out now that the day before it happened he'd been out in the road "arguing with himself", plenty seen him but nobody done anything, except probably lock their doors.

Such things sadden and depress me, and they're happening everywhere, everyday, and nobody gives a shit, not really.

Hard to be content with all that's going on.

The combined effect of these changes is still to leave the vast majority of income tax payers paying more tax. The biggest losers in cash terms will be those earning between £63,000 and £125,000. They will be paying £1,570 more in direct tax in 2025-26 than if no changes had been made.

Only those with incomes over at least £155,000 will be net beneficiaries.

Sadly you are right, there’s a lot wrong out there at the moment for sure, and the tinkering of successive governments regardless of which party is getting us nowhere. I always remember my late grandmother’s favourite saying “ contentment is better than hold” and she had very little in reality. The interest rate  hikes as i alluded to earlier will hurt a lot more than they help.

Politicians are too occupied trying not to upset certain areas of the electorate. They have changed over the last 10-12 years or so to try and be all things to all men and not to perceivably lose votes by making tough, sometimes divisive and controversial decisions, and because of this nothing ever seems to change. If anything it just gets worse, because they are now seemingly afraid to do anything if it may cost votes.

There is a lot I would like to hear and see to be done with the issues in this country- some of them, yes may uspet certain parts of the electorate, but I firmly beleive rather than lose votes they will gain them if changes were implemented. It is the silent majority that can swing power- not the radical minority that shout the loudest to get the headlines.

Just my humble opinion.
