Speaking of Peds he suggested I use Google to answer a question I had and readily found the answer I was looking for.

Perhaps you could play devils advocate and look yourself? I found plenty of links almost instantly.

A few month back, the hospital I work for, took on 15 new nurses from Zimbabwe. We have turned a ward into a home for them. All areas of the NHS are understaffed due to the abysmal wages. But the top management don't care because they are all working from home still and are in denial about what is happening.

too many pen pushers in the NHS  that do not contribute to patient care and are on better wages than the nurses

  Locum GPs  are on about   £800 per day     so not all front line staff are that poorly payed. Others are though esp the support staff etc.

Don't think Stere was necessarily cherry picking, but nasgp says there are around 17,190 locums.

 

So at £800 a day that's £1.3m a day.

Well he did specify locums in London. That is Cherry Picking as it allows his to use the shock figure of £800 a day. Which you then used for all locums the UK over who are not on nearly that figure. [emoji849]

Whilst after doing some research, I am somewhat sceptical at the £30-75 per hour, I wouldn't expect any Dr to be earning less than 100 an hour especially as a jobbing locum.

 

NHS waste is more at the top than at the bottom, removing useless layers of upper management and return to central style purchasing where they had the power to negotiate and drive down prices.
