I watched a cyclist the other day when I stopped at a red light at some road works come flying past me and weave in to the closed lane and travel along until he nearly went down the trench been dug , my eyes could not believe it.

Years ago had a cyclist do similar down a very quiet country lane - my boy there with flourescent jacket on saying hold on for 30 secs and it'll be clear. Oh no, straight through - missed him by about 2ft with lump of leylandi. And a mate was working on the lighting in the Holmsdale tunnel on M25 - diversion in place, lanes shut off with cones etc whilst they were up in lifts at roof height - 40ft artic comes rolling right on through. How no one died that night they never knew!

If you touch someone against their will you can be charged with assault and it could be an infringement of his human rights as well.

There is a defence from F v West Berkshire Health Authority which allows for the commision of an offence to prevent a worse outcome.

I, for one get really annoyed at people like tree surgeons and road workers.

 

I work very hard in my office, and because I have a degree I can afford a loan on my expensive audi. This all makes me very important. The amount I earn every hour is far beyond what you uneducated scumbags can (or should) earn in a day. As a result I get infuriated when your trivial little groundies or whatever you call then have the audacity to try to make me wait while I could be earning BIG money, or playing golf!

 

You use pathetic excuses like Health and Safety to hide your desire to seem important.

'Look at me - I can stop the traffic'. Then you moan when a REAL person has the balls to stand up to you and walk or drive past anyway!

 

I'm not stupid, I can see if it's dangerous. Well, I'm still alive so it's NOT'

 

AND if you dared to let your stupid insignificant bits of tree touch me or my car then my expensive solicitor would be all over you like a rash.

My friend was in charge of a gang doing what y'all do, branch coming down on main road etc. Flash car pulls up and bloke with glasses starts sounding his horn, remonstrating and hurling abuse, late for important meeting.

My friend goes up to him and explains he probably will be really late for his meeting if he proceeds. More verbal and by now he is red in the face and shaking so much that his glasses start to slip down his nose.

My friend very helpfully I thought did not say anything and just gently pushed the glasses back up his nose.

He reported it to the police and my friend had to defend himself against an alleged assault.

Nothing came of it but it just shows how childish some people can be.
