Donald Trumps Comments ......

Trump is a racist bordering on facist. His father (A, German) was investigated by the U.S. Governmet about his connections with the KKK. Trump himself was investigated by the U.S. Government in the Seventies due to him TELLING his letting agents not to let-out his apartments to black people, speaks volumes to me.

His mother is from the good old western isles of Scotland 😳😳

His comments towards Mexican people, raised some important issues but nonetheless came across as overtly judgmental, this is true.

However, you cannot be "racist" to Muslims. Islam is a religion, and Muslims come from all races - black, white or Asian.

It's too easy to call something racist, without providing a legitimate counter argument.

I'm not even fully English; I have non-European ancestry. But I won't be brainwashed by the BBC and the propaganda-ridden articles they've been writing lately, to further their own biased narrative.

The best way to defeat Trump is to take him on in debate and make a mockery of what he thinks. If your argument is better than his, his comedy-like race to be Republican nomination, really will become evident!

Banning and silencing is what real fascism is.

Did you read the part where I said he was investigated for telling his letting agents not to let his apartments out to BLACK people?, no religion involved, he is a racist.

Trump can be obnoxious, but I think he's quite funny in a sense. Let's be clear: The man is a self-made billionaire, so he can't be a total wazzock.

He says what he thinks, at the end of the day, and agree with him or not, sometimes he makes a good point which many politicians are too afraid to talk about, and they just want to brush it under the carpet. That is no way to run a country; if there's an issue with certain sections of society, then let's address it and work together with members of that community. If they're unwilling to take things seriously, then we have to question their role as citizens in our country.

What I find most knee-jerk is the response to this whole fiasco. The so-called "liberals" preach their "tolerance," yet disagree with them and you face the most unpleasant intolerance and hostility. I'm afraid you can't have it both ways.

To those who have reacted so strongly to Trump's overly stringent proposal, including the 140,000 odd who have signed an E-Petition to block his entry to the UK, what I say to you, is: Is it not better to confront the man in debate, and address his points, rather than just swear at him on twitter, make jokes about him and want him banned.

What a gross overreaction. I'm a persistent defender of freedom of speech for all, and I think that those on the left show utter hypocrisy when it comes to this. We saw it with veteran scientist Tim Hunt, being hounded from his job by opinionated, nasty people on twitter, all because he had an opinion.

Let's debate, and keep it civil. The so-called "liberals" of today are anything but, they are tyrants.

Good post

A couple of things:

1) Islam as a religion is essentially just an extension of Christianism (and therefore also of Judaism). All muslim scholars will attest to the fact that Jesus is one of their holy people and the Bible one of their holy books. They simply insist that Mohammed was the last prophet and therefore their version of monotheism is the correct one. Does that make them more or less extreme than others? No, it doesn't.

2) The muslim world is roughly in the year 1335. Look what we (the christian world) did at the time. No surprises, really.

3) Border blockades have never stopped proper terrorists from going where they wanted to go. In consequence Mr. Trump's proposal is pure polemic.

4) It is a well known fact that the US population is far more religious than any country in Europe, and he's exploiting this in a bad manner.

Donald Trump may very well represent the opinion of a large part of the US voters (and that's scary in itself). I have always been of the opinion that whilst a politician in a democracy has to represent the people who voted for him, he also has a duty to set an example of reasoned and civil behaviour (at least once he takes up office), and that is clearly where he is failing utterly.

Point 1 - Spat my tea out - howtheblazesdyawerkthatout?!

After watching President Obama's weak Oval Office speech a few days ago I can't help but think that these terrorist groups must be laughing at us.

These terrorist savages must be sitting around and saying to themselves, "Let me get this straight, we fly planes into their buildings, we burn them, we blow them up, and we shoot them, and their President responds by proposing to disarm Americans?"

Do yourself, and your family, an enormous favor and, for your own safety, ignore President Obama. Your safety is your responsibility.

Why do you think they are a bunch of jerks, TCD?
