That is not good at all. I had a 16 year old son with 0 experience and no kit to come and work with me today (could not get anyone else on a saturday last minute), maybe I am too generous but he was chuffed with his £70. Anyone the grounds for me is on at least 65, up to 100 for the better more experienced ones.

You may as well go on the dole, life would be a lot less stressfull too :tongue_smilie:

Forgot to say this is not a dig at you, just maybe you need to have a rethink on your current employers.

only thing is there is only 3 small companys here they dont employ anyone they just bring people in when they need them. im just going along with it till ive saved up enough money to get tipper and truck. already got a reputation growing from my own little jobs here and there, so soon as i got the money ill set up. hopefully undercut the companys who still have more overheads than me see how it goes. as for going on the doll i wouldnt dream off it couldnt stand that, plus u only get 60 quid a week or something on doll so would be worse off in both ways.

I used to contract climb over 10yrs ago for £50 / £70 a day . All I came with was my climbing kit and an 020 and my own mixed fuel. I used to hate using other peoples fuel as Ive seen how some staff just kind of guess the mix ratio . Anyway I thought I was minted. If I have a contract climber in now they get £120 a day and use my fuel .Saves my poorly shoulders back neck the list goes on . If it was a difficult take down Id do it myself but would take longer or pay climber extra dollars .

Maby with the very basic one or 2 tickets if your self employed with all your own kit for ground work I would be asking 15ph chainsaw work and 12 ph for gardining .

Employed for ground work chainsaw from 50 upwards per day depending on Exp and what part of the country your are .

Eastwater:biggrin:

i really think that it is totally dependant on the individual , i have had some guys come to me that are worth 50 and some worth more , i had a guy as a subby and paid him 70 a day but there were alot of benefits for him such as use of my truck weekends , my 4x4 to go too and from work in and he did not have to provide his own saws , when he came to me when he first moved down he was a verry week and slow climber but when he left he was a good all round climber .

I was just wondering what every one thinks there worth on a daily rate giving there experience and tickets!!

Just a few kind words and pat on the back at the end of the day :001_rolleyes:

I'm not sure I could do too many full days climbing in a row... but prob £200-00 a day as I'm a grafter! I'd include all the lowering gear etc. in that if it was needed.
