Used to give my son away in cafes when he was baby

Go into high street cafe, there will be older lady sitting on her own

If her eyes light up when she sees a baby she'll be happy to mind him for 20 minutes

Makes her day, and gives you 20 minutes to shop.....

Wife had hysterics first couple of times I did it

Then she realised it worked 110%

after few months he had loads of "aunties" happy to sit in cafe with him for half an hour

Unexpected upside at xmas and easter he got loads of little presents and eggs

Recommend this 110% .......works at every level

:001_huh: Wow!!! this has to be the wackiest thing I've ever read on AT!!!!!!

Can you imagine the press conference appealing for your missing child??????

"No I don't know the ladies name or address………………..or anything about her really………………………but she looked OK" :001_huh:

if you lived in a very small close knit traditional society where your extended family was nearby at all times I'd understand how your idea would be plausible. I'd also understand you leaving your child in a nursery or kindergarten where you'd carried out all the necessary checks to satisfy yourself that your child would be cared for by qualified and experienced women. To suggest giving your child to a complete stranger in a random café whilst out shopping in 2014 is in my opinion a sign of mental illness.

I like it, makes perfect sense to me, people really really get their knickers in a twist, and if a parent cannot excerise this type of judgement, perhaps they are not best skilled to be a parent.

The Mrs. would agree with these sentiments.

The eyes are the gateway to the soul, and tell no lies.

Proviso: Only in a Cafe I was familar with, not suggesting walking into a strange Cafe in a strange Town.

Do you honestly believe you can tell someone's personality by looking in there eyes.

Phycopaths make up 1% of society and most are in the top 1% for iq and fit right in.

I've seen that clip before.

I can honestly say if I'd witnessed it I would have beaten her senseless.

Cruelty against any animal is unacceptable.,

I'm old school, doors were always open etc., but leaving my kids with old ladies just because they look nice?

Err, no.

Arthur, you contribute some good stuff on Arbtalk, but everyone is marching out of step except you on this one.

I love my kids more than Stella, red wine, my chipper, and my 66.

Put together.

I live in a great area, and I'm sure that you do, but think about it mate.

Just think about it.
