What happens to the dredged silt out of interest?

Being dried out then redeployed across the site to refill holes where cley has been excavated to help rebuild the dams on all the ponds on the site.

Got a quote through on a new cat 1.5ton other day didn't seem to bad but don't think figures are going to stack up for me did email for prices on the Sany 1.5 ton as well but had no response, think I'm going to be looking secondhand I'm erring towards a kubota although I do like the bobcat machines seem to get more for your money and more choice in the kubotas

That's an impressive operation. I guess the IBCs on the main raft are as counter-weights. Is the big yellow trailed thing on the bank (with the black hopper behind it) a pump to remove water from the silt and how does that fit into the scheme of things? Tom.

Yep IBC's are just counterweights.

Yep, water is being drained via a centrifuge type gig at the other end of a long pipe.

Water goes back to the pond chain and the dried silt is used else where.

Ive had diggers before but never set up right for woodland working.

I want a 3 tonner, with Forestery guarding round the cab and a hydraulic winch mounted on it.

I know LPG Eddie has his lovely Kibuto , but that's way out my budget.

At pics or advise would be great

Thanks :thumbup1:

Stephen,

Did you put a hydraulic winch on your digger and if so where did you mount it and how is it working out?

Cheers,

Tom.
