When I first used the 201 I couldn't see what everyone's beef was with it, untill I started chogging down a cherry, guttless, soon asked for the 346 to be sent up. Yet with the 200t you will use it untill you couldn't befor you asked for a bigger saw, The 540xp is where it is at in terms of the best

Husky t540 or Stihl 201t.

Anything else is false economy.

I had heard that you couldn't use a topper on the ground, but curiosity got the better of me today and I tried it.

It worked perfectly!

Well yea . How can using a topper on the ground with both feet firmly planted holding it with both hands be more dodgy than dangling from yer rope 60ft up stretched out one handed ? :001_smile:

And of course that's how it would always be used wouldn't it??????

No wait, the "rule" came into force because people were having accidents using top handled saws on the ground.

If I am honest I wouldn't even think about useing it up a tree until one I had got my ticket and two I had been supervised by my boss for a good year to make sure I was confident with it and he was happy I was useing it safely after all an accident 60 foot up is far more difficult to deal with then on the ground I just want to get one to get hsed to it amnd get a good feel of how it works etc if you are not stupid and have sensible head on then I dont see the issue personally
