how many wear a watch for work ?

I was thinking today after keep walking back to my car to see the time as i,ve just busted my phone screen gets scratched to death keys in pocket etc so it got me thinking would a watch stand up to the day to day use off lobbing lumps of tree about etc when i,am sorting my log pile out down my plot etc i have a cheap lorus anlogue face but the velcro strap is a pita keeps coming undone and falling off and the last plastic casio just exploded apart lol as though the plastic went brittal with muck n oil i suppose you get what you pay for

Timex expedition on my second in 15 years replaced strap with washable nylon one it did come undone the other day dropped about 40 foot lense first on to tarmac groundy picked it up one little make. Still working so must be a good watch.

I got given a metal watch years ago, good quality one. I have worn it for sawing, building work, you name it. Face is a bit scratched and it's lasted about 10 years but the strap is giving up the ghost now, lots of the link pins have worn out. What about something like a nurses watch, where they are designed to pin to your shirt?
