  9. Evening all, Anybody around Shropshire got any bits of sawn timber that I could make into a telly stand for our new house? Thanks
  10. Thanks for the feed back, gone down another route on the log splitter front
  11. Anybody got any experience of these log splitters?
  12. Hello, I don't think you will have much success tbh. We have a double cab pick up and our Brittax rear facing baby seat only just fit in at a squash, we have just upgraded the little mans seat to a Brittax forward facing seat, which he now has plenty of room to kick his little feet about. But again the seat does take up quite a lot of room! Hope this helps?
  13. Best course of action is to talk to the tree officer who covers the area that your woodland is in. A site visit is probably best, so the tree officer can see what your intentions are and then they can advise accordingly. Hope this helps.
  14. Cheers Charlieh, that will be greatly appreciated. Thanks
  15. Yep, there is. It's not an assessment more of a guidance course which expires every five years and needs refreshing......
  16. Evening all, Is there a LANTRA instructor in Shropshire or close by to Shropshire able to come out on site for the day with our team and undergo refresher training for above said activity? Thanks
  17. The type of ear defence you are currently using are perfectly fine for c/saw use. If however you find you are stuck at the hopper end of the chip breathing dragon for 8 hours a day they are not. You need to upgrade your muffs, sordid MSA with the red band! Also you probably could do with changing the inserts on your ear defence as well, you can buy replacements. I do mine every year.... Hope this helps!
  18. Yep, every three years now. Has been for a while.
  19. I would strongly suggest you have a look at gov.uk. On there you can check to see what the current minimum wage is (at 26 should be £6.50ph). Also there is a really handy tool that you can use to determine if you are actually employed or self-self employed. Don't be afraid to speak up to your "employer", the law is the law and we are all in the same boat and have to abide by it, both as employers, employees and the bonefide self employed. Also have you checked with your local agricultural college or training provider? There is a whole lot of money in funding from the government and various bodies for chainsaw courses etc.... Hope this helps
