My hand ascenders are all right so gave my right pantin foot to me dad!

Can you use left and right pantins at the same time? Would it make life easier?

No you can't Moosey, you have to set up a ropewalker system.

Be great if it was that simple though.

 

I have the R/L problem as well Matty.

I've just bought a foot loop for my ascender, but would have been better off with a left foot Pantin.

I'm massively right-footed though!

Amazing that we managed for so long with nothing more than a length of three strand and a three knot system.

No would not cope, felt bad enough having to prussic the last 10ft into the cedre at the arb show. Might try and get my 1st full body willans, multi plat, swiss strop and prussic out for a giggle later this week.

I love my pantin and tend to keep it on all the climb and not notice it.

Regarding left or right...If I used a foot ascender with DRT is there a system. I mean if I pull down (body thrust) with two hands and push hitch up with left hand which foot would I want my ascender on or doesn't it matter..?

It doesn't matter which foot but the body technique will be totally different.

With the Pantin on, you will stand upright and push your foot vertically down. At the same time place your hand under your hitch system to effortlessly slide it up the rope as the rope moves down through it.

Your Pantin leg does all the work which is good as these muscles are very big and capable.

 

(At this point you may start to wonder why you have not converted to an SRT system yet. Oh don't get me started on the amazing benefits of redirects and zero friction:laugh1:).

Well getting the HC and pantin is a start. Must say this SRTWP sounds good but cant run before I can walk
