  1. Can anybody show difference between lean sweep and dogleg tar
  2. Any body do splicing in Brum area
  3. Had to chop off one end of my tachyon to thread it through my zig zag as the splice end wouldn’t go through. All fine but recently nicked my rope so had to cut off the other splice end. Thought OK I’ll use a knot but hate it. Is there a rope with splice on both ends that will go through a zig zag. Hope I’ve explained properly
  4. Thanks Still can’t find it. I’ve e mailed ArbPro in Italy. See what comes back. No label it’s going back to the shop. Only bought the thing to be LOLER compliant lol
  5. OK so if I get a new one how does the current 540 compare to a 201
  6. Thanks for all the suggestions. To be clear the spill did not occur during re fueling. The cap has a habit of not being secure at times even when it looks closed. My fault for forgetting to double check EVERY time
  7. Hi Just bought a new harness (see above) Got it home and looked for the attached unique reference no, but could not find. Phoned the dealer who went to find the location of the label. He could only find a small tab at the end of the bridge. I have a feeling this may apply just to the bridge part. My understanding is that there should be a label showing year of manufacture etc in order for it to be LOLER compliant. Does anybody know where the label is and/or can someone confirm what is required for LOLER
  8. Looks like it might be a new one lol No way I can take it totally to bits and get it back together…would end up putting a hammer through it lol When it was working it would idle fine but after a short time of working fine it would stop or not re start or start and die. Maybe I should try and download a workshop manual and give it a go if I’m gonna park it anyway. Adw not sure where you are but don’t mind paying if you can sort. Let me know if your interested
  9. No diagnostic breakdown must have discarded There was at least one occasion with no invoice (maybe 2) as they got it going no charge as it kept happening There was a piston ring replaced in July 2020 as shown. It really does have LIGHT use E.G. No tree work at all from end May 2022 till Dec 22. It packed up and I took it in just before xmas
  10. I've had this 540 since 2014 but it has had very light use Last year had problem with not starting or starting up but only running for a few seconds Took it to Buxtons were it was bought from. New carb kit etc etc and re set auto tune I think Anyway the problem kept happening so kept taking it back. Next time I used it, it ran for ten mins/half hour then happened again. Looked online to find that the impulse pipe might be coming off. Took it back and asked them to put on a new one, which they did, but problem keeps happening. They seem to be out of ideas. When its running its as fierce as ever and although I have a Stihl 150 I still need a bigger topper for bigger stuff Not sure if I have to chuck it and replace but seems an awful shame. Any chainsaw gurus advise please Cheers
  11. My T150 is great but the oil cap can twist internally and you think its secure and its not. All the oil can come out before you know it usually all over a front drive or patio Anyone know the best way to clean of these stains..??? Thanks
  12. Limes ok but planes rock hard and prone to snapping ? Hinges on limes pulled fibres but planes snapped off on a horizontal. Also big branch split when cutting. Thinking maybe high water content was frozen snd saw didn’t go through fast enough Plane wood seemed much denser. Also it was Tuesday to Friday
  13. Just finished felling some big trees in the sub zero temps…limes and London planes. Wondering if there is a source of info on what to be aware of when working on different species.
  14. Yes I believe there is. Would make sense for the custom clutch cover to not have a slot. There has to be NO oil in the saw when using with the grinder attachment. I'll ring Predator tomoz and check with their tech guys. Many Thanks Spud
  15. I bought a terminator stump grinder with 661 engine ex hire I'm in process of setting it up with a bar and chain for some big trees I've bought the clutch cover with the sprocket to replace the one with the solid oval which drives the grinder My question is (if someone knows?) is there normally a groove in the clutch cover that drives the oil pump? Someone else put it together for me but I noticed the stump grinder cover doesn't have one which makes sense as the grinder doesnt require oil Anybody know about switching these attachments
  16. Hi can anyone comment on the Peruzzo pedestrian chippers Thanks
  17. I need a tracked chipper and finding it difficult to hire at mo.. If someone's got one am happy to hire machine and operator ...? Work is in B'ham mainly nick
  18. Thanks again to all who replied I have to apply for something. That’s the procedure. What I’d really like is a meet with the TO and discuss what we could do Looks like I’m asking for a reduction cheers
  19. Thanks for the replies Ive been told by the householders that they bought the land with planning permission for two houses. They wanted one house so had to re apply. The planning officer granted the new permission but then informed the TO about the tree and I’m told he TPO’d it without seeing it. They then had to employ a consultant etc etc. They have spent thousands extra apparently to get the build done The original TO has moved on. And his last permission for a 2.5 reduction has expired. They need to do something They would prefer a hard pollard with an undertaking to carry out ongoing management. They would be happy to agree to that. I’m not aware of the regular maintenance agreement. Is this something that can be applied for in the same way as one off works? AAHP I particularly appreciate your considered view. I think they would be willing to go with the regular cherry picker if that’s the only option cheers all
  20. Any tree officers wanna put their ten pence worth ????? seriously looking for advice
  21. I know what you mean but where's the sense ? The house is there now
  22. The occupants of the adjacent dwelling (and tree owners) were previously granted a 2.5 metre crown reduction for this willow, which was never carried out. It was just over three years ago so a new application is required. They would really like it pollarded but I doubt this would be permitted. I'm thinking of asking for a 3 metre reduction and a shortening of selected scaffold branches to reduce end weight ? Would this be a valid request? They also want reasons for any works. Is "proximity to dwelling" a legitimate reason for controlling the size/spread Comments welcome prior to our application Thanks
  23. Can anyone recommend a good one Thanks
  24. Busted my husky plastic chain brake. Is it a dear part and is it an easy fix
