Today's excitement was cleaning up my used 550XP. Bought it a few weeks ago, lovely saw and very light, compact and nimble. However, unlike its bigger sister it took a fair few pulls to start, even once warm. Once the 572's warmed up one good drop start and she's off. Even cold she starts quick, so was a little disappointed by the 550.

With money being tight i thought i'd clean it up and sell it. I could buy another later on anyway. I've only used it once and it's lovely to use.

Cleaned a ton of gunk out, took the exhaust off, piston and cylinder look good, cleaned up the worn paint off the bar. Took the plug out and found it all gunked up and filthy. Gave that a good clean and now she starts easy. Once warm she starts with a single good pull like the 572. Now i'm not sure if i should keep or sell.. ?

Do any of the boots actually stop a chainsaw or at least take a while to slice through ??

Some just have the kevlar rag in the  instep Sam, not all round the boot. So its best not to trust it. Have opened up a couple of old pairs with stanley knife and its variable the protection they have at best. K

Is there any brands that are top of the class, safety wise though, award winning ? ?

I don't think it's been used much, it's definitely not been cleaned much! The bottom of it has few marks and it's overall in good condition. It's a 2019 too.

If it didn't start so easy it'd be on eBay now. But instead i have a new plug on the way and am unsure what to do. ?

I would hang on to it then, good Husqys are money in the bank.  K

I go for the cheapest Class 1 cos   A) my brain is hard wired to not cut near my feet, an B) i dont work with anyone who has lots of cuts in their boots ?    ( cos one day i will be doing their first aid on them)  K

Hi john, tree looks fab buddy....do you give the tree and put it up for free or charge?[emoji319]
Yes all done for free, trees donated from a local landowner and client of ours and we donate our time and equipment to put it up and do the lights which are paid for with money from some local fundraising otherwise it just wouldn't happen.
Hasn't stopped the typical faceless Facebook twats slagging it off because of course they could do better ?

Well i think it’s a fab gesture on  your part John and nice to see that there is still good will to all men, woman & children in these dark days of self pitying as for social media I have and will never be on it,this is the closest I ever get and even then it can get nasty.

But fair play to you John the tree looks brilliant and your a pillar of the community.??
