Got called to clear this from the road today by owner's neighbour as highways tree guys couldn't do it today. Back tomorrow with timber crane to clear remaining stems and canopy from bank and neighbours garden. Bad inclusion failed on twin stem despite being reduced three years ago to reduce wind loading and weight. Did have some really strong gusts in early hours today mind.

Had heavy winds or was it a random failure?

Some really big gusts about 5 this morning, tree was in a poor state so not surprising.
Winch power made things a bit easier.

customer has had this unusual plant, our main job was to avoid it at all costs.  Think it was called a gunnery or something

 

they will probably regret trying to save that as its invasive and hard to get rid of, looks cool though.

Bit of a workshop day today, added a storage box and somewhere to store/transport the arbor-trolley out of the way.

Steel floor notched out for forwarding trailer to make wedging in small awkward bits easier and easier to carry the pto chipper to site on occasions.

Clearing the main part of the fallen Beech today having cleared the road yesterday, now just got the other half to dismantle :-) sadly no stunt fell

Does the arbor trolley get much use?

It gets more use than I thought it would when I got it and recently I've thought it will be good to combine it with the bandit winch to shift big chunks of brash or timber without it digging into lawns or getting covered in mud.
I'd hate to think how many times we have decided not to bother taking it as it's a pain to transport then wished we had it, but now it rides for free and is there when needed.
