Cheers Paul. The picus test was done about 1/2 metre off the ground due to the large buttress roots. The decay was worse lower down as suspected.

 

 

How did you get that first image?

Is it some kind of reader type thing that you can use before cutting?

Finished a 2 day job felling some dead re gen Elms over a stream, felled them and pulled em out with the winch on the 8 " jensen.

A willow reduction we did today! Customer wanted a hard reduction, so did what we could!!

 

 

Why was so much left on the side of the tree? Looks hardly touched. Client request?

Nothing hard today. Had to go sort out an oak which was well... Had the interior thinned excessively and the outer crown untouched. Quick climb to thin out and it was good whilst Ollie cleared up the large snapped limb.

 

Then we went and helped mick and Jim on willow pollards, today we had TM stop go because we didn't have room to place the Landy and trailer.
