Our damaged bodies....

It would indeed appear to be exactly as postulated by yon grizzled Yankee logger on the "Axemen" show

"Ya caint fix stupid"

From someone with a dicky back from lifting 3 by 2 paving slabs single handed into the back of a Polo and being more worried about the paintwork than my back:blushing:

But Hey ho! who, who has manually laboured has not hurt themselves?

No one that I know of in the mostly farming community.

Ok I'm 63 but not doing tooo badly, I did heavy engineering for years then medical equipment with woods as a hobby job for 15 yrs to stay fit and focused.

My ambition is to retire and enjoy long walks, so I avoid anything that can prevent that happening. So when I had a hip prob I realized I was lifting on one side too often, so cut logs smaller and switched sides.

Bit of a back prob but once started it's never cured just in remission.Besides that only minor probs - don't tan well.:blushing:

Oh had 'Leptospirous' weils from rats in 1985 nearly died for real, so the last 27 yrs has been a second life for me:thumbup1:

Makes me feel a bit more normal reading all this, should'nt laugh as it is misery sometimes coping with all the strains and pains, but if you did'nt laugh then you would cry. I would love be able to pay for all the tree surgeons out there to have a months holiday and get mended and rested, I know that we certainly are ready for one now, have been manic for weeks!

I've just come back from the physio who wants to refer me to an orthopaedic surgeon for the lower back problem that I have put up with for years while I found the time to get it looked at.

Maybe I should have gone sooner.

Maybe I should have been more sensible when younger and asked for help lifting massive things.

Maybe I should have listened to older people with bad backs.

Maybe an office job would have been better.

Ha. I have just got back from the physio as well. I'm not allowed to sit for 48 hours as I have a disc that is playing up. Got to get some strong drugs from docs tomorrow. Strong anti imflamitory

Strong pain killer

Strong spasmodic

Apparently it will mong me out for 48 hours. Not looking forward to that too much.

Lower back pain and one cold leg due to trapped nerves and sciatia.
