Sounds like a nice commute to me. I love the peace and quiet that comes with snowfall.

Not heard of heated socks. How do they work then, battery powered?

It is very pleasant, and nice to have some variety too (I'm going to go via asphalt for the next few days).

They are normal, USB rechargeable batteries and a heating element in each sock. Washable, but not in a washing machine. About £25-30 for a pair, if memory serves.

Very pretty!

We have snow too, but only maybe 2cm. Still minus 10c on the way to work this morning though

Cycle commuting at minus 10c means you have to be OK with ice on your face :D

Coldest day of winter so far.

Walked along the cut this morning to visit a mate who had a hip replacement 3 weeks ago and it was cold but glorious, got on a stretch of the Trent and Mersey known as, Windy bend, they weren’t wrong in naming that stretch, I’m guessing but I reckon it knocked 5 degrees off the temperature for a mile or so.

Picked up a shower cabinet last night from an area that is a bit if a cold sink. It's surrounded by mountains and has a lake in it,showed -19 on my car display.

That area can get  to -30 or less in Jan/Feb

Minus 4c and snowing steadily. It's the village Christmas market this afternoon, so the weather should contribute to the Christmassy feel.

Sauna during the early evening (complete with ice hole in the lake) and then I'm on ski slope snow production from 2300 - 0300.

Winter in full flow :D
