Was blowing a hoolie here most of the day, with intermittent heavy rain and hail.

BUT, now the most beauitful moonlit night with what feels like a warm wind from due South.

Moon has been bright between the waves of rain, was like daylight at times when out with the dog.

That's just not good for anyone. Fingers crossed it doesn't hit as badly as forecast.

We get 90-100mph wind gusts fairly regularly down here, more so over the last few years, forecast them again fri but this time inland rather than just at the Needles!

Well it is relatively quiet here in Newport South Wales, despite the red warning for wind.  Any major wind further west yet or have we all been taken for a ride with the warnings of the worst storm since 1987?

We are in a red warning area and I have just been out with the dog and it seems like just a bit of a breezy day so far . Maybe the worst is still to come .

On the North coast of Cornwall right on the red zone - yep it's windy but with none of the build up would have just said another windy Feb day and thought nothing of it.

Typically were due to fly Newquay to Gatwick today [cancelled] but the Sat flight going to Turkey seems to be going ahead...

Now got the decision of do I drive to Gatwick and if so when? Or cancel everything... be interested to hear what everyone else is seeing and opinions.

We're flying from Stansted tomorrow and expect everything to be running OK.

The wind is picking up here now. To peak in a couple of hours.
