I thought today was going to be spring - all of it - but no, spring didn't even last one sodding day

Didn't last a morning here. 😟Started lashing it down just when I'd considered putting the mower in the van and cutting some grass.

Spring was so last week, keep up. If we're lucky we might have another one next week. Before another 8 weeks of rain and then 8 weeks of heatwave and drought.

I'm looking at old photographs from 2020. It had been the wettest winter ever from end Sept 2019 through to March 2020. Then it went arid for the lockdown! Winter 23-24 has far surpassed those levels. Still chucking it down, relentless, every day without mercy. Big J - count your blessings!

Another Sunday walk, another continuous mud wallow. It's not even funny anymore.

The land just can't take it now.

when you start looking at the winter wheat fields nearly 50% of the fields have rotted off, bread will be going up later this year

Yes, I felt sorry for the farmers trying to grow crops when I looked around at the drowned fields yesterday. Crazy amounts of water everywhere.

Hedges not been cut here and a very depleted winter workforce is the issue....😔
