Got another storm coming by the sounds of things,going to be very wet and windy,the ground is wet enough at the minute,don,t need anymore

Been raining here since about 4pm yesterday being monday and it looks like it is set to continue till thursday morning the EA have put us on a amber warning and last time that happened was storm desmond and we had some severe flooding, we had 3 days of rain last week that resulted in about 4" of rain and now we have another 6" forcast, going in building today got a raft to build ,,,,

Started in the night , wet and windy .

Very wet since lunchtime on Monday in north Cumbria, with no break in the rain forecast till Friday and snow for Thursday. Cold and very wet now, ground is saturated so local flooding is a certainty.

We still have snow on the ground in Durham that turned very hard overnight.It was -1 this morning but wind chill put it at -6.

It was grim in Yorkshire today we were working not that far from York, a place called Market Weighton. Nice to have a local job in the pi$$ing rain all day!

Yes Ratty, and what a feck up it was. The management company who have run the site supplied all the parts we were there to fit it, to be fair they are usually very good, but someone got this one wrong.

 

We needed 2" guide rails, we got inch n a quarter, we needed the biscuit on top of the chamber the right way round, guess what?, we needed the main contractor not to move the control panel cabinet and bury the ducting.

 

Never mind, I did get to cut 300mm off a 110mm rising main before I realised the compression joint was 90mm.

 

7 hrs n 550 miles later we achieved feck all. I'd made my mind up I wasn't going back tomorrow, so I'm having a little sweet number, it's down the smoke though.
