  1. Hi mark really good points to check out, thanks. Yeah I totally forgot to mention that the chain spins on idle and was doing so a few days before it totally clonked out. Is there a specific reason why that would happen or could it be multiple reasons?

  3. Hi. I'm having problems with my 201. The saw starts fine with the bar and chain off but as soon as I put it back on it seems to be playing up. If I get the started and put the chain brake on, the saw turns off. Also a fair bit of tension on the pull cord when bar and chain on. Cover , bar and chain defiantly on right. Saw seemed to be slowly cutting out before all this. Any advice? Video added for more info. Thanks PXL_20230822_110812019.TS.mp4

I see now you’ve mentioned it being a three strand rope. thanks again.
  5. Great info AHPP thanks. We used the stein RC 2000, Teufelberger Sirius 14mm, DMM 200kN Impact block pulley and a DMM Pinto Rig pulley for re-directs. The majority of my work was done with a re-direct as opposed to natural crotch rigging though I had assumed it would have caused a lot of rope friction without one. Now that you’ve mentioned a 16mm shouldn’t take that much friction, it’s good info to know.

  8. Hi all. looking to buy rigging kit as I’ve just recently got my ticket. I’m looking for a decent set up which can take medium/large loads and will last a while. So far I was thinking of getting: DMM 200kN Impact block pulley Gleistein HeavyGreen 16mm English braid multi-sling (16mm x 5m) Stein RC2000 capstan I’m a bit confused on the size of capstan sling. It’s working rigging rope is 16mm so would this be the same for the sling? Also will be buying a redirect, rigging carabiners and sling on top of that I just didn’t add it in. Thanks

  13. Fuel is going to fuel filter but isn’t filtering through.
  14. It’s not been changed since I bought it a year ago. Had a service 4 months ago and nothing mentioned about the filter so assuming all was good with it. I had a look at the filter earlier and it’s hard for me to tell if it needs changed. Didn’t look too bad in my opinion. Got a mechanic friend coming to take a look in a hour, hopefully he will know otherwise I will post some pics.
  15. Thanks good points, I’ll check that when I head back this afternoon. Also to note about 6 months ago I lost my fuel cap whilst filling up and forgetting to put it on whilst driving away so some debris got in the tank though not a major amount. Is it possible this could have filtered through causing a blockage?
  16. Hi Mick video attached. I’ve taken all small brash out the infeed still no luck. Also to note it randomly cut out whilst in use so assuming this would indicate it’s not a spark plug problem? Though I’m no expert. All obvious things checked as originally noted such as emergency stop button and bonet secure. IMG_5680.MOV

  18. Hi all. My Forst doesn’t seem to be starting and I’m not sure why. When turning the key the engine seems to be reving but it just won’t power up. I’ve had logs stuck in the In feed before but the engine doesn’t make a reving noise when trying to get it going again so I’m assuming it’s not from the small brash that’s currently stuck in the infeed though I will take this out tomorrow and see if it does the trick. All obvious things have been checked such as the emergency stop button and the bonet being securely down. Any ideas? Thanks
