  1. Thanks Dan really good to know. Yeah think I will just stick to the multisaver rather than buying a fixed length to lenght ring as they are pretty much both the same though I would imagine with the multisaver it would have a lot more optional use as it comes with a prusik. Thanks mate.
  2. Thanks Jay some really good info there! I have actually only recently purchased a tuefuelberger multisaver though I wish I seen your comment earlier as I checked the ART on YouTube and it looks like an amazing piece of kit! Something I will keep in mind to get my hands on in the near future.
  3. Thanks mate
  4. Thanks makes total sense. So I would I assume its recommended to use one at all times when climbing a tree to keep my ropes in good order?
  5. Hi. I have a question in regards to a ring to ring friction Saver. Can someone explain to me what would be the reason for using it compared to just using a canopy in the tree to keep your rope secure? I'm currently reading Knots at work and going off the DdRT info and checking YouTube videos on the technique I've seen a lot of the arborists use a friction Saver. Thanks!
  6. Hi guys. Just bought Collins Complete Guide To British Trees and already have pretty sound knowledge in identifying Cherry trees Ash Conifers Firs Spruce Pine Alder Oak Holly Birch Apart from listed above what trees do you most commonly come across as an arborist? Just thought I would try focus studying first in the more common ones then move onto to the less common ones Thanks
  7. Got a cs100 tipper trailer all climbing gear (apart from rigging ropes hopefully in coming weeks) 3 chainsaws 12 16 and 20 inch. All general groundwork gear. Thanks I did think about advertising for experienced climbers, something I will defiantly look into. Thanks josh
  8. Thanks Dan will get a few books ordered related to prunning and tree biology. Also will try take a look further a field to where I'm located. Appreciate it mate 👍
  9. Thanks Paul. Will look into other businesses too and hopefully get some sub-contract work and gain a bit more insight. Appreciate your advice
  10. I'm looking for advice and I hope my post doesn't get looked at the wrong way. I believe I'm someone that still needs a lot more experience in this industry but the people locally aren't there. Last year I worked at the back of the chipper for a tree surgery company and never really got any hands on experience further than that. Unfortunately after the summer finished my boss wasn't in need for any extra help so got paid off. I decided I really wanted to pursue a career in this industry as I really enjoyed the hands on outdoor work and got my Cs 30 31 38 & 39. After completing my courses I applied for a variety of different companies locally but never had any luck with my applications so I decided to start up myself. I still feel that I need a lot of help and advice in particular jobs and never having someone with a lot of experience to help me through the ropes I've been finding it difficult at times and want to strive to be the best arborist I can be. So my question would be what further education at home or online should I aim to do to better myself? Has anyone else been in a similar situation as myself in the past? thanks
  11. Hey I have my Cs 30 31 38 and 39 I'm just outside of Glasgow and looking for any arb related work. Happy to advertise here though just thought if there was a symtem in place where I could put my details and location, contractor's/agency's could always look me or others up through that way dependant on specific locations which would work better for both sides rather than having to post as old comments/posts would get back logged for new ones.
  12. Anyone know any websites I can register myself for sub contract agency work? Looking to fill in some extra days when I'm not getting the days in as I've just started my own buisness and I'm still building up clients. Thanks, based in Scotland SW
