The latest 550/560's now have a finer mesh filter which is orange. It must make some difference to the power though as it has to be more restrictive.

Its always a theoretical " trade off " But I have a Spud ported 372 that has a " high top " flock filter but it still goes like a pig down a freshly greased slide ! Ask Steve !

Yes, it is usually owner lack of maintenance, this certainly was and just meant the piston wore down until it had poor compression.

The flock filters offer more filtration but are also more restrictive. It is wise to take the top cover off, remove the filter and clean it once in a while. All filers need it whether Stihl or Husqvarna etc!

On my bench today is my old paslode 1st fix nailer, when battery is put in green light flashes as normal, when trying to nail, fan spins very briefly and light flashes red and green then nothing, re-insert battery, same again! Tried 3 batteries. Suspect electronic fault, no obvious broken or pinched wires.

Bought 2nd hand 10 yrs ago!!

Maybe I should should just be grateful for the service it gave me[emoji853]

I think the new filter is 25 um and the yellow one is 80 odd.

Seems a big difference
