So those in charge of this scheme spent a fair bit if time and money to come up with and announce it only do do an immediate U turn ,,,,tossers !!!!!!

They will soon double the tax on everything. They probably just missed a slight technical issue so it will go through soon enough 

 

One company here has over 60 double cab pick ups used for shopping and leisure activities when not at work by the staff...

It’s a theoretical figure ? Somewhat like top trumps. 
explain how you get a trailer rated for 4000kg, there’s a reason why everyone builds vehicles to tow the legal max 3500kg.

What a palaver! A DCPU is a vital tool for some but I do agree that the element that use it as a tax dodge should be penalised!

Any trailer over 3500kg gross needs coupled brakes and cannot be towed on a ball hitch, it must be on a suitable pin/ring or pintle/lunette coupling.

 

Many LR vehicles from Series Ones onwards have been rated to tow 4 ton trailers subject to being fitted with coupled brakes.

 

Now it will also cause a world of pain with tachos, drivers' hours, licencing, and all that malarkey. It's not really worth the aggro.

 

I've driven a 2286cc SII with coupled brakes and 4 tons on the pintle and it is extremely tedious and generally a horrible experience. Never again!
